I never thought about removing the secondary butterflies.
When the secondary valve actuator fails; the bike will not rev past 8k.
Besides; I tend to keep my vehicles mostly stock.

In 250k; the valves have been checked 4 times.
Only needed very minor adjustments twice.
(ie. in 1 exhaust valve still in spec but not matching the others.)

That's mainly the reason I removed them in my 1250. With them in it really flattens out at about 7.5k rpm and beyond, after removal will rev to redline (9.5k) much harder without flattening out. I'm not sure why they have them in the first place, must be a noise or to meet tail pipe emissions thing..

Wow, that's what I call getting your money's worth.

You pretty much have to after 30k, since nobody wants to buy a sportbike with "high mileage."    Everyone knows that mc engines blow up b/w 30 and 40k.
