Jeremy McWilliams (42) and Andrew Pitt (30).

I'm shocked that McWilliams was chosen over Garry McCoy, but apparently they think he'll be healthy by the opener and better able to develop the new bike. He's old enough to be the father of several of the guys he's racing against.

I think McCoy breaks more often than McWilliams.

Possibly, but McWilliams is already broken pretty badly.  Headscratch

Not as badly as McCoy methinks. I like them both but if I had to pick I'd take McWilliams too. Anytime McCoy came off the bike I'd be concerned one of his legs would shatter or one of his hands would fall off.

McCoy putting that bike in the points on it's maiden run was hugely impressive, though.  I was hoping he'd get that ride.

Why not McWilliams/McCoy.  That be sure to destruct at some point, but it would be awesome to watch until then.

McCoy hasn't ridden the Illmor bike at all, just McWilliams. I'm not aware of a major sponsor for Illmor so I would imagine rider choice was made as much by who could work cheap or bring some $$'s.

That's not correct. McCoy raced it in Valencia and Estoril and McWilliams tested it at Jerez (and maybe elsewhere?).

In a bar fight who'd you want at your back, McWilliams or McCoy?

15th and dead last due to attrition and by what, -3 laps after pit stops?

But seriously, it's a great effort for a new bike/new team/new rider.   Bigok

I hope they do well. I like diversity on the grids.

Hey them Aussie's can throw down, I remember a certain event featuring crew members of a Royal Australian destroyer...

More importantly, who's gonna ride the Buell?

Seven laps back and close to 200cc down on displacement.  Not to mention a brand new, undeveloped bike.  I think it is pretty impressive.

McWilliams is almost as old as me, so I think he should be given lots of respect and a fast ride.  I will certainly be rooting for the old guy next season.  McWilliams for world champ!  Hey, it could happen.
