It isn't a Denny's, is it? Dot is still giving me hell for riding to PA to eat at a Denny's. I keep telling her,"No, it wasn't THAT type of Denny's."
She asks what type it was and I say,"It is the type with swingers dancing at it." And she keeps giving me hell!
I can't win.

I'm out.
This ride is leaving from Chantilly - just a few miles from the Temple - basically between HOV and my house.

There is no reason we should not do a STN NoVA SS1K ride with this group next year.
Seriously - when I heard about it today, I almost went to do it on the 'tard - then found reality.
Kneebone will be there - cool stuff.

I'm not much for filling out forms, collecting receipts and getting certificates. 1000 miles a day is no problem, but I'm not doing any of that bureaucracy stuff.

This coming Sunday, th 24th, I will be up at the NJMP with Team ProMotion riding the Thunderbolt course. On a rented bike. Dot will be there, if she isn't in LA for work. My fingers are crossed for good weather -- I couldn't stand another wet day at the track.

I wonder what holiday traffic will be like? Here's hoping for an easy to and from, and an enjoyable "while there".

That was a fun track day!!!
Dot had a good time watching the riders, watching the kids, watching the dogs....man, does she want to get out on the track again.
The weather was near perfect, 80F with a breeze and some clouds. The first track period was my time to get over riding SP Shenandoah in the rain (no traction). After that, I started to get into the groove. The last track period was a complete blast. However, my old frame was talking to me, so it was time to go.
NJMP Thunderbolt is a great track. Smooth, long, fast; I want to go again!
During the ride there on Saturday PM we hit traffic in MD near DE, so we got on 40. Took longer than it should have. The way back was fast, except for an extra stop (more later).
I am worn out and happy.

I have to add that the track up there is beautiful. And all the supporting infrastructure. Having only one experience on a track, Summit, I can say I'd much rather ride at NJMP. Peter did great, but he didn't let Mr Happy ride with him (big disappointment on Mr Happy's part) and I was glad to see at least three ladies suited up and riding out there! Hopefully I'll be back out there sometime soon! And HOV, on the way back, we found a GF bakery! Who woulda thought?

Outstanding! Track days can wear you out. I remember one, where some say the day following a track day I dumped the VFR getting fuel at the Temple. Put my foot down, and well, that was it. Blue didn't see it, didn't capture pictures, so it didn't count. . ..
Here's a GF place in Baltimore that Katie wants to try:

Dot and hovmaven got ahead of me, as usual.
A great GLUTEN-FREE BAKERY in MILLVILLE, NJ:
OK, other things happen in Millville. Mr. Happy goes there to ask for a ride.
I go there looking to ride.
There I am, riding:
In the pack!
In the lead?
For a second.
Great track. How about several us plan a gluten-free track day?

That looked like a lot of fun. Now if you want to expand your horizons, try VIR . . .. Cornerspeed, CSS ride there. I know CSS rents bikes. On the GF track day, let me know when you head again, perhaps I can spectate.

Joey: That was how the track was at Sumitt Point when I went there in April. It was a steady, heavy to medium rain nearly all day. Several of the corners had puddles. No traction in many places. And, no, I did not ride like that. Some guys tried -- out of some 18 riders a handful or more slid off the track. No serious injuries.
At NJMP there were crashes with a few serious injuries. Just before the lunch break both ambulances were transporting injured riders, so the lunch break started early. It wasn't as bad as the day before, Saturday. At the riders' meeting Sunday morning it was reported two riders were still in the hospital and would be for a few days. The organizer said he didn't want that again.
