I'd ride until I had to go to work, but I'm taking Sunday off to give thanks for not spoiling the new bikes ticketless record from this mornings pre-work ride. Lol

I could meet you in the AM and ride to pie place distance.  Embarassment

Beyond that - I'd better trouble shoot it within the county.

BTW - how's the RT-P getting along? Rolleyes

the new bikes ticketless record

Yea... thats going to last.

I predict July 4 weekend will see the end of it.

Having my bike in the garage has done wonders for my driving record.

New transmission is in the mail! This thing is ridiculously expensive to repair - $250 for each gear, 400 for an intermediate shaft, $350 for a gear selector drum, but I found a wrecked GS transmission for $300.

Weather looks good for Sunday, no one is biting on my craigslist post so unless my bike sells before tomorrow, I'm in for the ride. DNA is out, Blue is in, anyone else?

Bueller?

Bueller?

McGyver?

HOVMaven?

DNA (borrowing one of McGyver's many bikes)?

Anyone?

The plan is to leave early, do a long and hard ride to the Ohio River for lunch (through some delicious looking twisties), do some more twisties, then slab it back along I-68 to return at a halfway decent hour (and because we'll likely be pretty tired by that time).

Windblown- so how do you like the FZ1 so far? I am thinking of one or a Tuono, have a couple other bikes in mind also. I want to take some test rides before I make my next pick. I am looking for something that is more SPORT then tour but I can string 3 to 4 400+ mile days together. I could easily do 600+ miles in one day on the R1 but after that I did not want to ride again for a few days(knees).

I like it. It may stay for a long time. It's a bit softer in power down low than the holigan in me cares for but that's not an all bad thing. The suspension is a tad softer than I care for when hitting the curves.  A carb re-jet & slip-on to smooth things up and bring on the power a bit better as well as a suspension upgrade are on the list for this winter.

Sounds like you're looking along the same category lines I was. I looked hard at the Touno, Speed 3, Tiger, and a few others. I could have easily ended up with any of them if the right deal at the right time had come along.  I got the Gen I over a Gen II mostly for the slightly more comfortable ergos.  The Gen II is a bit more sporty but for my riding the difference in what they are both capable of in that regard is really a mute point, I doubt I could take ether one to their absolute performance limits.

So - who else rode today?  No gas station pics from our Western adventurers yet? Headscratch

I went out.  Took the Sprint for the new motor shake down spin.  Lime Kiln, Snickersville, Mt Weather and home via 50.

60 miles - no trouble.  Plastics are back on and Ride to work day tomorrow looks like a GO!

It was bit uneventful, but a neighbor with a cool solid black CBR1000 with TwoBros under seat exhaust followed me.  Now I want a new pipe for the Trump.
