History is what we choose to remember. . ..
On the advice for Joey front, I'd lead with "Your Honor, I'm sorry. During my second tour in Afghanistan, I was in a line of trucks that were speeding down the cleared path to avoid the insurgents willing to exchange their life for ours . . . and well, it was a bit tense. We just kept it moving. I guess I forgot where I was. . .."

Joey: Sorry to hear that. I think the LEOs have been more active in the last few days -- they got all antsy when everyone was snowed in so no one on the roads to 'observe.'
New topic: All the bikes go for a romp this weekend.

Lots of frozed melt and iceon my ride home tonight.
I saw 1 or 2 cars fresh in the ditch or snowbank - I don't plan on going on 2 wheels for a few more days yet.
If you go out - be careful.

Joey,
I'd follow DNAs recomendation. I used to follow the golden rule of "Just suck it up & pay the ticket" and now I hardly EVER catch a break. Cops seem to hesitate to mess with a clean record, but like he said, once the record shows a ticket then it's open season and it just snowballs.
Speaking of snowballs.... Wind driven drifts are still an issue out here. Roads that are clean and dry can get covered again in a matter of hours. I'm praying for rain come the first of the week.

Have fun! I will just getting the bikes out for a short ride to get the oil flowing and battery happy. One of the weekend days I will install an oil cooler on Otto. Easy DIY, you know....

I need to go down to the BMW shop for the 6k service - any interest in a group ride event in a few weeks?

Oh yes- I forgot about that one.
The FedEx truck of death, followed by Crash, then a slight kindey issue.
2 ambulances in one trip - our group record!
I'll just go by myself thankyouverymuch.
I do think Blue of DrD might need to go with me to be there for me when the bill for the service comes in. Hopefullly they can translate the euros into NoVA 4 br houses.

I drained the carb and got the 'Tard running today and rode around the neighborhood today.
Having all 3 bikes running at one time was pretty cool. I hate having a bike in the garage and cannot get it to start right up.
Now to get the dirt bike running and I am ready to start the maintenance cycle to start the year off strong!

Oil cooler installed. Only took four hours and a few cuss words. Doesn't seem to leak. Yet.

I haven't touched a bike since before Christmas. I haven't gone this long with no riding since Afghanistan.

Commuted in today -- only pucker factor moment came when I scooted up the side of traffic and saw a snow pile -- I thought, no worries, at 35 mph I'll just scoot through this. Turned out to be about 20 feet long and the consistency of mashed potatoes, which, I learned tends to grab the front wheel and offers little traction to the rear.
But it was good to get out.

On the 'it is good to get out' part. No way I would ride to work until there has been more melting.
Wait a minute: My work site is now four miles from the house, so riding to work doesn't make sense!
OTOH, I need to be at an office by BWI all day tomorrow and I would rather ride. With snow drifted lanes possible and 45 mph gusts, no thanks.
