I'd probably say the iPhone is the better gadget because it's only $399 now and had a phone and EDGE support built in. I know I'll be buying an iPodTouch, since I have a work-supplied Blackberry and tether connect for my laptop. I'd love to consolidate to an iPhone though.

I would consider it if it had a keyboard.  Typing on touchscreens makes me miserable.

I thought that it would suck, but it's nicer than I expected.  I'm actually faster on the touchscreen than I was on the qwerty on my 8525.

It's got this intelligent thing that recognizes fat fingers and picks the correct letter even when you hit 5 other letters at the same time.  You just have to be deliberately fat fingered and it works great.

It does need some sort of flash hack though.

Well, I'm locked into my 8525 for another 12 months, which should hopeully be enough time for Apple to work out the inevitable first-generation bugs in the iPhone (like not including 3G, what were you morans thinking?).  But if the ipod touch will serve my needs without being carrier-locked and paying a monthly fee, that might just be the way to go.  'Course, wifi is a bit harder to find than cell service...

If I were to buy an iPhone, it would be to replace my iPod and Krazor. Therefore, the paltry and pathetic 8gigs is crap. Once it hits rev 2.0 (there are some holes in the implementation) and 20gigs (or more), then I'll bite.
