I work nights so got up at 11:30 am kind of hinted around about going for a ride. My wife said if your going to town bring back some cat food so the demo ride cost me $3.00 at the Dollar store, nothing but the best for our cats. Got to Suches, Ga about 1:30 pm and the KTM factory demo trailer was there. Got my name in for the last ride which was about a 12 mile run on SR-60 up past the School to the Fire station on the left. Some nice sweepers and some really tight stuff perfect road for this bike. After the typical pre-ride does and donts we headed of and man this thing had gobbs of power compaired to the Thruxton. Brembo brakes would stop on a dime. In the turns it was like being on rails.Well with the good comes the bad. The motor reminded me of my BMW 650 GS but on steroids kind of buzzy like a big single thumper with an extra cylinder. But the price is what confirmed that one will not be in my stable any time soon $13500. That's big bucks compaired that I bought my Thruxton new and the ST Sprint used and I don't have that much invested in both bikes. Plus I got a free t-shirt out of it or my daughter did they didn't have any x-large shirts left. In all it was a good day except the ride home on SR-180 was not as exciting on the Thruxton after riding the 990 Super Duke. Lol

I love those big KTMs, but I have read the mill can buzz a bit.  Were I a bit younger I would really think about one.

Headscratch   I keep hearing this, but I don't know where it comes from. I find them as smooth as any other balanced twin.   Perhaps the TBs weren't synched?

Excuse me, Douglas?

What is that in your avatar?  Did something happen this weekend that you need to share with us (evidently, not)?

The seating position on the KTM is great so the Thruxton will be listed in the classified section shortly. Think I will replace it with a speed Triple or a Z1000. Clap

It happened today.   Embarassment  I just purchased a Super Duke.  I have to agree with everything gamountains has said about it.  But, I didn't find it to be all that buzzy.  Either way, a little buzziness just adds character to it, right?   Bigsmile
