Mana 850, Shiver 750?

Are the Mana 850 and the Shiver 750 going to be released in the US?

I don't know.  The Shiver is a cool idea; basically a 750 Tuono.  It's a shame that the Shiver looks like a Kawasaki ER6 (not that the ER6 is ugly; it's not.  I just wish the Shiver's styling wasn't mildly derivative).

yea, I totally like the look of the 750 - two big  BUT s :
price -  $9500.  U.S. ?  and - aviail , ( is Aprilia a reliable company )

I didn't realize that the Mana had a CVT tranny. That may be the way to get my wife on her own bike.

Well the upside is that the shiver press release IS on the usa aprilia site.

Having ridden a Sprint ST and a Burgman 650, I'd like to try the Mana 850.  CVT is pretty cool.  I was wishing the Burger just had a bit more oomph.   I might buy it if it came here.  I'd really like the Gilera 800 to come here but now I'm just dreaming...

It sure would be nice if Aprilia offered a middleweight in the US again.  But I highly doubt they'll import either the Mana or Shiver.

Now that is pretty damn cool.  I'm sure the tail gas tank will play hell with CoG, but that trunk is neat in a practical way.  
Its like a scooter disguised as a motorcycle.

I don't see either listed on aprilia's US site.

the Shiver 750 is listed on Aprilia USA web
'motorcycle brochure '  list $$$ 9000. , about a thou. more than the street triple, which is by reviews in english cycle magas a much better bike ( sportier, better 'sorted out') thou the Aprilia has more distinctive styling.  Just hope they fix the reported electronic throttle glitches.

My wife has expressed interest in the Mana.  She'd like to get a bike again and misses having one around even if she wouldn't ride more than 1500 miles in a year.  The Mana strikes her as a very easy bike to ride especially if rides are very occasional.  I tend to think that if riding was a bit less taxing, she might actually have more fun and get out there more.

Hard telling when the Mana will get here in any real numbers.  Apparently there have been issues with the transmission computer and a recall as a result.  With any luck the beta testing going on with the Euro customers will progress to completion and a reliable US model will be on the way within a year or so.

i had a good look at both the shiver and the mana at this weekends scottish motorcycle show . the shiver look,s great but , the seat was rock hard , and the edges felt sharp , i was locked into one position on the bike with zero room to move around , very uncomfortable . the mana however while the seats look very similar, did not have the sharply profiled edges of the shiver , and felt very comfortable ,with plenty of room to move around,also it feel,s lower than the shiver . i had to do a quick double take when i sat on the mana and reached out for the clutch lever ! but of course there is,nt one ,it,s all automatic ,like a twist and go scooter . i also think that the mana is a nicer looking bike .

I saw two Shivers yesterday at a dealership - they look MUCH better in person.

The dealer was setting one up for demos and had already installed started bolting on performance goodies.  The exhaust note from the Leo Vince cans was unreal

A guy I know said that the Mana should be released at the end of 2008 in the USA, but I have no idea where he got thiat information from. He said he put a deposit down on one, also.

I'm curiously awaiting their release in the USA, as the purchase price saves me close to $1000 between a Pingel shifter and custom installation on any non-auto bike for my wife.....well, for me its really around $700-$800 since I do my own installations.....We've been thinking about buying two Manas, but we won't really be in any situation to buy another bike or two for another 18-24 months......I have recently found some really nice deals on leftover CBR1000RRs, though......if we were only in the condition to purchase, now.

If they bring the Mana 850 into the states--- I will buy one.  What a great bike.
My only complaint (from what I've seen) is why didn't they go with belt drive instead
of a chain.  Much longer life and less BS in maintenance.   It's the only mark they've
missed.  

My prediction is that in years to come--- for a wide range of different technical and
marketing reasons--- automatic tranneys will become commonplace on motorcycles.
As will "drive by wire" and the traditional wiring harnesses will be replaced with either
"wide area networks" (is that what they're called???) or with infared transmission of control
signals... just my guesses of where the technology is headed.

And aprilia appears to be at the front on several of these fronts
