Well, maybe all the testing has paid off. It looks as if the Honda is as fast as the Ducati, and the Yamaha not a lot (but still some) slower. The Michelins actually worked at Estoril, and it was a scrappy one. Excellent work, boys.

Ahhh shoot. I was hoping for a Stoner DNF and a Rossi victory.
Not that I dislike Stoner or Ducati, nor am I a Rossi fan, it's just that I prefer a nail-biter finish to the season.

That was an excellent race, scrappy as hell but that just shows they were battling hammer and tongue and pushing like hell.
Awesome race, some real heart stopping passes

Really liked the back and forth with Rossi and Pedrosa. Great racing. I don't know if I believe the Stoner clutch story, but he wasn't much of a factor in the 1/2 places.

Hammer and
tongue
? That's gonna make it very difficult to give a press conference afterwards...

I'd rather be the hammer than the tongue.

Kudos to Speed as well, great shots of the rear tires coming off the ground under braking into turn one.

Glad to hear that there was good racing this time, sorry I missed it. Hope to catch it on tuesday.

That was a pretty awesome race (just watched it). Looks like Michelin had it this time and Bridgestone didn't./

Absolutely, positively awesome racing! GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
OOOOOO!
As to the clutch - somewhat hard to believe, but Stoner's fellow Duc rider (who was it?) blew a big ol puff of smoke from his bike and that was all he wrote. I suppose it's possible a clutch let go...seems horribly unlikely though.
I do want Rossi to win, but this whole thing is Stoner's to lose now.

Great race, great work by Dani and Vale.
Does anyone know what happened to Nicky? He was at the tail end of the lead group, then suddenly dropped a second off the pace. I can't imagine it was tires or the bike...

Well, it was kinda tires...Nicky had to push really hard to catch back up to Stoner. In doing so, he pretty much used up his tires. But then he made a mistake that dropped him back somewhat and he didn't have enough tire left to push to catch back up.
That was an outstanding race! I was amazed at some of the tight passes being made. And Pedrobot showed he's got some scrappiness to him! I would've liked to see Nicky on the box, but the fact that he got pole and set the fastest lap is some consolation.

Where that engine blew is a typical place for motors to let go...so I doubt it was the clutch.

Yeah Nicky was riding really well. What screwed him was the racing with Elias that allowed the front 3 to pull away to a point where he couldn't catch them. Sometimes you get screwed. Did you see that pass Nicky did on Elias though? I swear he was leaning on Elias's bike trying to push it down.

It was nice to actually see a race for a change.
But, Stoner will still be the world champ!
