This sounds a little strange but having done it a several times I highly recomend it. We ride up Friday and ride home Sunday, spend Saturday riding around GA and watching the county parade. They feed you and provide live music and camping space. Having tried several locations we stay at the Hampton Inn in Fitzgerald.

Here is a link to the event: http://www.sweetpotatorally.com/index.htm

Here is a link to my parade photos last year: http://www.goldwingusa.com/gallery/v/Bob/SweetPotatoFestival2006/

and for 2005: http://www.goldwingusa.com/gallery/v/Bob/album_002/

There are over 1,000 bikes at the rally, good BBQ and a trip back in time. Not to mention the most polite people in the country.

This sounds  pretty interesting.  The wife and I will talk this one over  Smile  Although it is the weekend after Biketoberfest, we may still make this one.

Thanks for the info, as I have not heard of this rally.

I'ts the weekend after Biketoberfest so a lot of the non HD vendors head up there on the way home. We had Jeannette's VFR painted with some pink last year by one of the mural/pinstripe guys. Something to do and somewhere to go, frankly we have a really nice time every year.
