Frost!!! - Already

Had our first frost already.  This is a bad omen for the motorcycling season.  Here's a picture of the saddle of the ST3 Thrusday morning.  Not impressed.  

Fortunately the weekend was decent and we managed to put on some miles in the mountains.  Had to break out the heated gloves and grips though.  (mmmmmm, warrrrrrm   )

A sure sign that the 2nd prime time riding of the season is coming. No bugs slattering up the faceshield, no sweating in heavy gear, no cops lurking on sideroads waiting for unexpecting prey.

The rains have returned to Seattle. Don't know how long they'll stay, could be until next July. Hopefully we'll get a little 'indian summer' before they really sock things in.

eeek!  .was +30 here all week till sunday, got a nice run in on sat!  then we got the big cool down, but its still in the hi teens..SO you better not put the bike away yet..its comin your way!!:)    maybe....

Well, lets see, that was Thursday, wimped out on the Wed. due to pooring rain, so I guess it was Tuesday.  Put another 1300km on this past weekend just in case it was the last one.  over 10,000km in the first month on the new Ducati and counting.

Glad to hear you're sending some of that nice weather our way Nitro!  They're forecasting snow flurries on Wed.  I was hoping to make my big   comback on the track Wed. evening, but we'll see.

Frost hit at least one of the lower 48 Friday/Saturday, too. Folks at the Vernon County Fair did well to stay close to the ani-mules that night!

I leave the bikes in the garage so I can't do the frost on the bike seat thing. But I can do is plug in the heated gear and ride.

Dusting of snow on the mountains just above the Paulson Pass today. Big cold front coming through yeaterday and tonight. Next week looks a lot warmer so ... do not despair  .... yet !!!    Cold mornings and warm afternoons.  Heated grips, vest and layering season

I have to admit that being able to write "BRRR" on you seat in frost is a crack up.

If I left my bike out all winter and managed to be able to do that even once, no one would believe it.

Just a hunch or gut feeling, but I betcha things open early this year. Water temps in the Gulf of Alaska are unusually low for this time of year. I think this means cooler temps.

U guys are spoiled...!! this would be like august  when i was in mb! great riding weather! Yes..ok.sorry .I am getting spoiled now myself out here and dont like this awfull cold stuff today!!!!  BUT , more warm stuff  to come yet!


I am expecting another  good month yet. Have had the call to get back to work already up at SunPeaks, but In no hurry to see any snow till November !! In fact,  hoping  for a normal winter in kam with no snow and tons of it at the  resort! Perfect!!  good plan anyway!

So we need to get together for coffee  in the middle somewhere in a few weeks as it will be  in the hi 20's!!!!!  yep!

I literally had to chip ice off the seat of the Ducati this morning in order to ride to work (it was +1C I think). 
I never understood until today why some bikes have an optional heated seat.
