Just a heads up to any of yooz southern New England flatlanders headed up, or anyone planning to ride in the northeast hills in general, the rut is on, BIG TIME! I saw more forrest rats in two days/600 miles round trip down to the Catskills last weekend than I have seen in the last 5 years, almost nailed two with the truck last night. Dawn, dusk, and dark should be avoided if at all possible! Ride safe

Thanks for the heads up. Could save a life. I've noticed more forest rat activity around here lately, too. Ride alert!

It's too early for the rut. However the forest rats are strapping on the feedbag. Cooler temps and acorns dropping make for all day and night feeding.
I'll be doing my part to thin the herd as of October 6th.

I went out about 7:30am last Saturday and have never seen more Turkeys in a few hour period, ever. Every dam road, on very corner.
Apparently, they dont care for the straight sections either.

No doubt... they have been everywhere. Nothing like flying canon balls, at head height of course, to wake you up a bit.

The turkeys you are seeing are really only the reflections of yourself looking back at you in the rear view mirror... Adjust the mirrors Hoss....
Ya Turkey!

You need somethin' man... kinda like I need a third job after the test ride on the new K12GT today, they got that one right this time, big improvement over the last one I rode ('04). It's still suffering from some ugly, but nobody's gonna get that good of a look anyway
