You may already know this but this upcoming weekend is Italian bike fest in Shepherdstown. Sunday is when I usually drop by to see the concours (lots of interesting older bikes each year), listen to the pipe/engine contest etc.

You know that's the same dates they're having the Aprilia demo truck at Deep Creek, MD.

I'll be there.

Tracy Martin is the featured speaker at 1PM on Sunday. I'll be the big ugly guy with reddish brown hair and a beard. Say hi.

Tracy teaches for my school: Total Control Training at HCC

I'll be making a big effort to get there!  I'll probably ride my old RF900R, so if you see one of those, by all means, say howdy!

Sorry we missed you (again) SlowDuc! we were there from about 10am to 12:30 or so, then had to take off. It was a great event though---a perfect riding day resulted in larger-than-usual crowds.

Though the "show bikes" and vintage bikes are fun to look at, I always have just as much fun browsing all the bikes in the parking area!  Thumbsup

Of course I was the lone V-Strom in the "Non-Italian" parking area. Spotted a couple 1200GS's, a KTM950, and one KLR. While roaming the parking area, I'd glance over occasionally to see if anyone was checking out the Wee-Strom---nobody even glanced at it.  Lol

Aah, it's nice being a nobody.  Bigsmile

So where was the Italian bike fest in Shepherdstown held?   Folks over there don't know where Italy is, much less what an Italian bike is.  I know - I had the first one in town.

The festival was held at Morgan's Grove Park, just south of town about 1/2 mile. You'll be surprised at what those good ole rednecks know now a days, they can tell it's a Duc not by the roar of the twin motor but the jingle of the tranny Bigsmile....just ask Tim Russert he is a Shepherdstown resident and boy he knows a lot.

Cool.   Wish they'd had that event when I grew up there (about 40 years ago).   And I had a Duc there in 1962, too.   All 98cc of it!!!  What's happenin' in Summit Point?  I used to work in Middleway.   That was 'bout 40 years ago, too.
