Interesting news. There is a photo in that thread of a nicely setup 07. They are heavy and receive alot of nasty comments for their styling in Britain. I kinda like the looks.

Very big .. kinda in the BMW Adventure class. Not sure it would be any good for anything more than FS roads. But interesting that they are testing the waters. Wish it was Yamaha with the new Tenere though.  Thumbsup

A guy here in Seattle specializes in hard to find and import bikes and he had licensed and titled Varadero here a couple of years ago that I almost bought. They're good bikes.

Looks like a great commuter and everyday bike to me.  Kinda like a 4Runner or Pathfinder.  I always liked the TransAlp myself.

I really like the Transalp as well. A civilized bike with great versatility. What a concept?!!

Nice! That model with a drive shaft would be nice.

Looks like something I could sit on for hours and hours...like any other real-world, dual purpose/sport motorcycle.

Its about time NA wakes up. I wish Honda still sold the Africa Twin. Then there was the Yamaha TDM 900.

I like it.  Does look heavy though.  Aren't those VTR motors super thirsty?  What kind of range does it get?

I think Nice Cans!!!     I try not to think about AT bikes ever again after my mental problems with the camel......Smile

But those cans make me think!!!!
Wow..very noticeable cans!

All one really see's!!

Big cans!!

So whats the deal with the cast iron coolers on  those kinda bikes? are they bomb proof lockers for your goodies, or ammo box's?? thats gotta be it!!

or  do they make em float? If they are floats, how does the front stay up??

Never have figured out why they cant make them look nice? or is nice not tough enough? Smile  Or are they really coolers?  or floats? Why do they make the bike look nice and then put those metal cans on them?  Is it so when they fall over  off roading it dont matter as who cares if you bend a  can? Can you even bend these cans?

I dunno..And I wont buy one till i do know!!!   so there..

Cameltosis still spills forth ... or is that fifth ?  Headscratch Bigsmile

You know this is a British thing the cans. After the war they never could stop talking about Gerry Cans and the like and strapping them to Bedfords and all things guzzling ga... er .. petrol .... and besides where was a fella to put his Wensleydale and the like on a sunday. Today, as you can see, they have taken this to the extreme. All things have Ger .. Cans ....

As far as the looks goes ... What yer does is put stickers all over em. Bash em up right proper like ... don't cha?!. See DantesDame for details on this behaviour and the inverse proportion of dings/scratches/dents to attaining Adventure Cred .. oh dear ... now someone is going to start a thread on adventure cred ... hey that rhymes !!   Bigok.

A Thread on ADVenture CRED ....  Chili Banana couch

The more bashed up and stickered the better. So ... there ... understand ... like ??   Huh ??
