What's the current status of Caberg helmets (esp in the USA)?

Are there any dealers in the USA?

What are the differences between the current models?

+1 on Motoliberty.  I tried a Solo (it just didn't work for me) and sent it back - no problems.

I have a love hate relationship with mine.

I will caution you that the fit is tight on these & would advise following their sizing chart. I was bordering on a large-XL and picked the Large. Well lets just say I hope my head gets no larger.

You can get them at Aerostich & many other American dealers if you google.

I bought a Caberg Justisimo back in the summer for 275 shipped to my door. Unfortunately the helmet just didn't fit. When I pulled down the chin-bar it hit my chin and wouldn't have been any better with another size. I got it from http://a-dsafety.com. Danielle took the helmet back without any questions. I would do business with her anytime. I just wish the helmet would have fit.

The status, as I understand it, is much like that of Schuberth:  were waiting on a US Distributorship to be re-established.

It should be good by spring of next year, thou.   Thumbsup

My chin also touches the chin bar, its not so worrisome for me. Although, if I had it to do over again, the Shoei multitech would probably be my lid now, but I would hate giving up the internal sun visor, its so nice.

Nice helmets, but I'd say they run a little large. I could have worn a Large.......

The internal sun visor is the best thing since... well, anything! I have no idea why more manufacturers don't do it Shrug

Scorpion, Shoei, HJC, Shuberth all sell lids with the internal visor.....

I wasn't saying that no one else does, I was meaning that it is odd that only certain manufacturers do and even then it is only in one or two models. I'd have thought it'd be a popular feature in most helmets! The only disadvantage of them that I can think of is

a.) the lever may spoil the "look" of the outside of the helmet
b.) the level can make the helmet a little noiser

sorry, Ant.  My misunderstanding.

My only concern, and I haven't researched enough to verify, is what happens to the airflow into and through the vents just above the visor?  Does the interior shiled, when tucked up, block the flow?

When I had mine it would leak while riding in the rain. I had water droplets dribbling on my lips.

I believe the Schuberth's are a better helmet.

Headscratch you got a faulty unit then, you should've sent it back for a replacement. I've ridden in torrential rain many times (hey, I'm in the UK  Rolleyes) and it has never leaked inside.

As for the interior visor blocking the air flow... I've never really thought about that! The nice and not so nice thing about the Caberg Justissimo is that there is very little in the way of a "skirt" at the bottom of the helmet and that allows a lot of air to come in through the bottom of the helmet. Absolutely great in summer but a bit cold in winter, nothing a scarf or neck warmer doesn't solve though.

I have heard that they don't currently have a North American distributor. So I would guess whatever stock that is there is there.

I tried on all the sizes of Justissimo they had at the store, at the Gap, last fall and my head is too long to fit.  I'm waiting for the new Scorpion EXO-1000 with the built in sun visor.  The EXO-700 large fits like a glove and I can get the EXO-1000 at my local dealer (sometime in Jan).  Of course, it's not a flip-up, but I can deal with it.

I love my Caberg but its a shame that it only as a year warranty. I hear complaints about the chin problem and wonder if they got the helmet on right. There is a lip but it goes under your chin and yes my chin touches but above the lip to if my helmet moves while riding, I can adjust it by using my chin and pull it down.
