Hey John,
I broke down and bought a C14. It makes it a lot easier to do the kind of miles I want to do.
I sold the klr to Rico. Couldn't give it the proper attention. How are you liking the new area?
Later,
Ron

Utah is great. I haven't seen enough yet. Let me know if you're ever in the area.

They are slowing down for the winter, but they are usually a Thursday meet and eat at 7 and something on the weekend.
Tragik on this forum organizes many of the weekend rides. Details are usually at the forums on

I agree, I just need to get me some hippo hands or heated grips or something. My fingers get cold very easily.

I put a set of heated elements from Dual Star on my KLR and they worked well.
I'll probably do the same for my concours.

Nice. The outside of my hands gets cold, and that's why I was considering the muffs.

Hi Ron,
About 30-45 min North of you is a group of fellows that regularly hook up for Sunday rides. We meet early for breakfast then go to either,Chapel Hill, Uwharrie,or way East to Pender cty....Our link up point is at the GoldenCorral on Ramsey St...
time about 0730 to eat and depart about 0800, I am sure as the temps start to drop we will move our times to suit weather...some of our escapades can be found over at carolina riders forum on the Fayetteville page....We have a varied group of guys on ST1300, BMW, Harley, Buells all manor of two wheeled convayances....Come ride with the Ville...its a bit of effort but we usually have a good time....

I knew there had to be somebody fairly close. I have to work this Sunday, but the first
opportunity I get, I'll be there!

Just wondering if there are any riders in the area.
Fayetteville. Just got back from a weekend ride with friends in the WVa mountains. I usually ride year round, but as there are not many interesting/challenging roads around SE NC, I try to head west as often as I can.

Some of the roads in the Uwharrie Mountains are pretty darn good - and not far from you...
But they certainly don't compare to the WV.
