Icon Daytona Jacket Question

I have a chance to buy a new one from someone who no longer rides. I have mixed feelings about Icon but they seem to be improving every year.
If you have this jacket, how do you like it and how does it fit your measurements?

I used to own one. It really is a great jacket if you like the styling (the Motorhead is a bit mor subdued, but the early Daytonas are decent.) They are certainly not a race-fit. They have a fairly straight cut through the body and the sleeves are a bit more relaxed than, say, Dainese. The leather is thick and of good quality and the factory armor package is pretty darn good. If I remember correctly, the early generation Daytona had a mating zipper, but the 2nd gen does not. In my experience they run fairly true to size for a relaxed fit.
Hope this helps!

I heard some disheartening things about Icon. I have a friend who works at CycleGear (set flamethrowers to stun please). They started phasing out the Icon gear. His boss showed him a tag sewn into one of the jackets that said something like "Jacket not meant to protect occupant in event of crash". I'm paraphrasing a big chunk of text that was full of legal stuff. I don't know if this is just their disclaimer to keep from getting sued and for all I know it appears in other jackets as well (not just ones made by Icon). Food for thought, I haven't really investigated this further.

Thanks for the replies. I have had some concerns about Icon in the past, but this jacket did feel a little thicker than their usual stuff. I will look for the disclaimer label inside.

All gear that does not have a verifiable standard they are required to adhear to (CE standard, which does not apply to gear sold in the U.S) will have that disclaimer.
I would be more concerned about purchasing a product that is made in China. No human rights, no respect for patents or copyrights, etc...

Yes, that is a valid point, and I thank you for your opinion.
I am Canadian and China will soon own us, so I don't really care where it is made. (sarcasm) This jacket is new, but belongs to a guy who can no longer ride and needs the money, so I am not bargain shopping at the dealers. I saw a daytona at the last bike show, but could not try it on as it was an XS and I am XL.
FWIW, Last time I picked up parts for my Polaris-USA-made snowmobile, the parts were Korean and Japanese, so it will be hard to take the high ethical ground all the time, as much as we may try.

Do you mean, "All gear that has a verifiable standard they are required to adhere to...?" I.e. Icon has this tag to sell outside of the United States?
That's what I sort of thought, particularly as my BMW gear did mention adhering to some European regulations.
Incidentally, my Rallye was also made in China.
