Word from the Spanish magazine Solomoto, is that Honda is set to release a retro CB750, based on the original model released in 1968/69, sometime in 2008 (40th anniversary).

No word on whether it will come to the states.

I'd rather see one that looks like the late 70s/early 80s like the one I posted in this thread:

That's what I imagined.

something that resembled the original 1968 CB750.

would be a cool bike.

Dunno if I'd buy one, but definitely cool  Cool

I did my time on those. I had a fleet of those. I likes me some modern works of engineering art like my F4i, thank you very much.

Over a year ago I sent this image of a Nighthawk-based cafe racer to Honda in Torrance. It's about time they did something about it. However... haven't seen the check yet. Headscratch

There's a company in the SF Bay area that produces the original '69 CB750 using new/old parts. I think Honda should go the Ducati route and build a cafe racer.

I would be suprised to see that bike and the CB1100 that the showed in Tokyo both go into production. How many retro models does Honda need in their lineup?

Well, isn't that what pretty much all their current line up is?  What new models were introduced this year again?

They sell a lot of the retro style bikes in Europe and Asia, they probably need the various CC's to meet tax laws that vary widely by country.  I've got a gray market CB1300 that handles and perfomrs way better than I remeber the CB-s of the 70's and 80's performing.

Anyhow, in keeping with the thread title, Whitehouse in Japan did up a retro custom based on the CB1100:

Whitehouse is the awesomest Japanese custom bike shop ever.

IF I ever hit the lottery I'm going over there and bribing whoever I need to to bring a Jim Goose MFP replica KZ1000  Inlove over here.
