I've forwarded this to my tire guy and friend.  We like to take a trip down south around that time and maybe...just maybe he'll be interested.  If so it'd be possible for us to get many bikes down there. Smile

The wifey just asked me what I wanted for my birthday, which coincidentally happens to be near this weekend.  Hmmm, lets see....  Oh I know, an all expenses paid trip to Nevada to attend a two day STAR school.

I'm in! Bigok

OIC.  Well, if I got those on the Guzzi I'd be in trouble, but would this count?

Yeah, I don't want to trip over one of your cylinder heads trying to pass you. Smile

By tradmarking you mean cylinder head beveling.....

Jerry!

Great to hear from you.  I'm glad you are getting better.  Feb is still a few months away so you never know.

Does anyone have experience with the Dunlop tire deal offered with this school?  Ideally I'd like to take them up on it and have a new set of Qualifiers fitted before the track sessions, but I don't want to be stuck with bald tires finding out they aren't set up to mount them at the track.

Alternatively, Cycle Gear is having a sale today on Qualifiers for $190/200 a set (180/190 rear), and I'm wondering if I should grab a set and stuff them in the garage instead.  I'm not a huge Qualifier fan, but it's a good price, and there seems to me to be a value in running the tires the instructors are most familiar with.

What value is there to run the same tires the instructors are familiar with?

Run the tires you like the most as it is you on the bike and not the instructor.

I personally will be on Pirelli's one day and most likely another brand the second day...maybe Bridgestone Slicks.  But I'm also planning to use this time to do a little bit of tire testing. Smile

That the instructors are more likely to have direct experience of pressures, wear pattern, handling dynamics, etc. with that brand of tire on a given bike; rendering their feedback more accurate.
