Gerbing heated jacket and gloves dual controller question

Been using the Gerbing heated jacket for a year, love it.  Just got some G3 gloves to go with it, and a dual-temp controller. I was hoping to use the dual-temp controller to keep the gloves and jacket at different settings, but it doesn't look like it's that easy.

The gloves plug into the jacket, and there's no plug to connect them to a different controller at the bottom of the jacket.  I suppose I have to use the long y-connecter that came with the gloves and run those through the sleeves of the jacket every time?  What a PITA!

Or am I missing something?

I have the jacket, g3 gloves and dual controller also.  I run two cords from the bike to the pinned connnectors on the pad on the left inside of the jacket.  The internal connection on the jacket pad is for your pants/socks.  

One of the pinned connections runs the gloves and the other the body of the jacket.  Just connect the gloves to the cords at the end of the sleeves and the two pinned connections to the bike.  Turn on one of the circuits and see what part of you gets warm and mark it.  If I remember correctly, the connection closest to the zipper is for the gloves.  I marked the cord with a grey zip tie and use the grey knob for the gloves (g=grey=gloves and b=black=body),

I can take a picture if this isn't clear.  If you have an older jacket, it may not have the plastic pad that houses all the connectors on the jacket.

That may be the issue.  I have one cord to plug into the controller, and a yellow "accessory" cord coming out of the jacket, but that's it (aside from the glove connectors on the sleeve-ends).  No plastic panel...

That's the kind I have and you can't run the gloves and jacket at different temps unless, as you said, you run separate Y wires up the sleeves to the gloves.

Which is dumb, because they're made to plug into the ends of the sleeves. I've never felt my hands were too cool and my jacket too warm... personally. But I also have heated grips so I can run them and leave the gloves unplugged if I want.

The harness of a dual controller jacket is different from the harness on a jacket with a single controller.  I do believe that Gerbing will do a retrofit for you.

Picked up a new "dual-2" jacket this morning (at the dealership for new tires anyway). :-)

Got e-mail back from Gerbings when I returned to the office - $15 plus $10.50 s/h and they'll retrofit.

Oh well, the old jacket was a bit big on me anway.  I'll put it up for sale on ST-N and see how that goes.
