Rico and myself are looking at a run to the Blue Ridge Parkway by way of Squirrel Spur.
This will be a one day trip and about 400 miles for us. Any other takers?

Here is the map->

I've been there before. Squirrel Spur itself is a pretty decent road, it's just a short one. The roads surrounding it aren't as technical, but great roads still.

I'd love to go with you Ron, but I'm already planning on heading to Shady Valley on Friday for the day...

There are some extremely technical roads in the area if you know where to look.   Wink

You getting out this weekend?  I'm sure the usual suspects will be going somewhere in that area.

My seat has been sent off to Russell and will not be back for a week or two. If I had a seat this would be a good ride. I really like that area. If you do Squirrel Spur it is worth the effort to go north on the BRP a little and check out the east side of Route 8 at Tuggle Gap. I good weather this is a good long day trip.

I think Prez knows most of the ones I´m talking about.  No offense but I don´t post that stuff on the internet anymore.  I´ll take you there, or another friend might, but I don´t advertize.  Wink

Some friends and I recently discovered a couple more of the "gaps" in that area.  Pretty fun roads.  Not necessarily the knee dragging racer boy roads, but very entertaining.

Sadly, I wasn't one of those.  Sad

If you knew Suzie like I knew Suzie, you probably caught it too.  Lol

Seriously though, on your map at the BRP hang a left and run down to Fancy Gap. Lake View Restaurant, about 20 yards from the entrance/exit of the parkway, good food and excellent pie in case you didn't know about 'em.

Wish I could go but I'll be riding in Utah / New Mexico   on my way to Barbers for vintage days but that's a fun area to ride in.
