i do like the look of the lattice frame, i wonder how much it weighs, ? also it look,s like it has a decent sized tank on it , again i wonder what sort of range it would give you . the only downside i can see, as usual with BMW will be the price of the bike , and all the various accessories .

I like the 800GS and would like to test one to see how it handles.

Is it me or does the rake of the 650 look rather long? It might be an optical illusion though Headscratch

I think it is the same, but the 650 has the cast wheels, single front brake, and standard forks...  800GS is better.

I'm wondering if they were able to upsize the tank, considering that it's probably located under the seat like the other F800's...

Doesn't make sense to me for BMW to have the F800GS, new F650GS, and the G650 line  Headscratch Too much overlap.

That being said, provided the F800GS doesn't have an astronomical seat height and price, I am interested- but they better release the info soon, or it will be too late!  Bigsmile

I think you misread the post. They stated "new F650GS  replacement with the F800 twin engine" Both bikes have the F800 twin.

And I agree, that would not make sense.

I believe the fuel tank will be under the seat (to keep the weight low), as on the other 800's (S/ST).
The fax tank will most likely incorporate the battery and airbox (hence the air "scoops").

I would have to test the 800GS, but I always thought that maybe the 1150 was more than I needed/wanted. It would be nice to have something a little lighter  Rolleyes but still be able to haul ass on the slab when necessary  Thumbsup

Umm.  Wow...

More power than the 650, less weight than the 1200.  Not as expensive as HP2 (hopefully).  I would consider it.  Then the XR could go back to a dirt-only bike.

I'm seeing reference to the smaller bike as a 650cc - it may be a 650 based on the same 800cc twin architecture.  I guess we'll have to wait till Milan to know for sure...   Shrug

Well Moto Daily has it listed, so I have to assume it's real.  I got rid of my F650GS because it was a bit too wimpy, and there's no way I'd want something as heavy as the 1200's...  This may be my perfect bike...  Well, at lest in about 5 years when I can pick one up used for less than the $10k plus I'm sure they'll want for it.  Bigok
