Saw one today at a local Honda shop and I am smitten  Inlove

No deals to be had, however, and OTD price is over $11k.  Guess I'll have to sell the Futura and buy a newer 6th Gen Viffer elsewhere...

The VFR is nice, and the 25th pretty, but not THAT pretty.

Hold on.

Dealer near me has had a used '06 with factory bags for 8-9 months and wouldn't budge one penny on the price when I was shopping for a second bike.

Yep - they have an '07 non-ABS model still in the crate (is it "Dark Cherry Red"?) and quoted an OTD price of $10,972.68.  Add $500 minimum for the 25th Anniversary paint job.

They won't take the 'priller on a trade-in, either.  That's actually fine with me as one tends to get shafted even harder on trade-ins.

Hey guys, new to the site and just found your post.  When I was home in October, I bought my 25th Ann. for around 10.5 OTD to include the 4 yr warranty.  Probably not the best deal out there but considering it was in Phoenix (year round riding), I couldn't foresee much more savings (+/- few hundred).  I put over 600 miles on it before I had it serviced and parked (til my next trip home) and loved every minute while riding it.

Good luck on finding your best deal; I'm sure you will really like it if you pursue it though!!!

There is one for sale in Crystal Lake, IL by Honda Northwest for less than $9,000.  You could have shipped and still save money.  http://www.hondanw.com/

That is a great color scheme as I remember the early VFR's and how they were the bike to own.

I don't see anything wrong with paying MSRP for a bike that you really like.

If you trully are looking for "the best" deal, buy a used 6th Gen VFR and have it painted up in the 25th Anniversary colors.  I'm not being sarcastic.  The best deals are in used bikes.  If you want new, then be prepared to pay MSRP.  Expecting the dealership to give you $1000 or $500 off the sticker on a bike with a profit margin of maybe $500 is unreasonable (i'm just guessing on the margin but I'll bet it's close).

Remember that you should NEVER buy a bike expecting to make money from it or even break even with it when you decide to sell it.

I rode my last '99 VFR for 2-3k miles, then resold for 300 extra.

I plan on making much more then that on the next '99 VFR i just bought.  Its a real craiglist special. Smile

Or better yet, sell the tank/plastics that came with the bike, and buy the brand new RWB Anniversary ones I pulled off  my '07.   Thumbsup
