Yes, they work great. Turned my 20-minute stock ZZR1200 seat into a 500-mile seat. Still not perfect, but much, MUCH better. Thumbsup

If you like to hang off in the corners it's not for you.

The main advantage, besides the comfort (which you can achieve through a seat rebuild and a local guy could probably do a good job for close to the cost of an airhawk or less) is that you can use it on multiple bikes.

I have one.
Good for a 15 hour day / 11 day Tour on a stock FJR seat.

Upside.
It works and is easy to use on multiple bikes (not possible with custom seat)

Downside.
Doesn't look as nice as a custom seat.
A little weird when first using it, you feel a little disconnected from the bike.
It can move but easy to reposition on the move. Don't forget the elastic's to hold it to the seat.

I have 2 Airhawk pads, one for me, one for the wife. Used them for maybe 700 miles.

If I had it to do over again, I would not have bought them. I'm now going to spring for a full custom saddle. The Airhawks will probably stay on a shelf.

My biggest complaints, I've never heard mentioned. If I leave the pads on the bike on a warm 80+ degree day they get so freakin' hot it is like sitting on a frying pan. I'm telling you, I don't mind hot on a bike at all, but that black rubber gets smokin' hot and it takes a long time to cool down when riding.

Secondly, how much air pressure I use is real darn important. But I can't keep the pressure constant and who wants a seat that changes firmness? One time I rode from sea level to the top of the Sierras, about 8800 feet. The seat pad got harder and harder and harder. Sheesh. I let air out of the thing twice, and I should have let air out of it twice more. And guess what happens going back down to sea level? And if there's temp change and altitude change, forget it.

I had a nice custom seat on a former bike. Airhawks are a poor subsitute if you ask me, and way too expensive for what you get.

(I've been wanting to tell someone about my Airhawks... I feel better now Razz.)

I had one - but returned it after a thousand miles or so.  Just wasn't as comfy as I'd expected.

They offer a "you bet your a$$" guarantee, so while the bike shop I bought it at only had a 3 day return policy - AirHawk took it back and refunded my money in total.

Good company - worth trying to see if you like the seat.  Good luck.

I wasn't a fan. Different seats for different butts or something like that, but I ended up going with a beaded seat cover instead of the Airhawk and have been much happier.
