I completed a SS1k ride about a month ago, and I realize it takes them a while to do all the paperwork....or whatever it is that the IBA does. I've read their FAQ, etc, but don't see any answer to my question.

Roughly how long did those on here have to wait for their cert, AFTER their check clears the bank? Mine cleared approx 1 week ago.

Just wondering. Smile

Awhile.

Between the IBR this year, and some staff changes late last year, I hear they've been pretty backed up. Delays as long as 13 months are not unheard of, but I've also heard some rumblings that they're clearing through the backlog, so it probably won't be that bad.

My wife and I did a ride on June 9th and got our certificates a couple of days ago, but.....we submitted the paperwork through the Motorcycle Tourers Forum, who sponsored the ride, and we were told that those are usually processed a little quicker, as they are prescreened by respected members of the IBA before they were submitted.

Did one Sept '06 and still waiting. The one from this Oct will probably only take a few months now that they have their new computer system done. All the rides from the last half of '06 had to be redone making this large backup. Hope to see one of them soon ! Thumbsup

It has been 10 months since they cashed (Jan. '07) my check  EEK!, 14 month since I submitted the paper work and I haven't heard on single thing from this bunch. Angry3 It wouldn't be so bad except the guy I rode with got his last Jan. (5 months after we submitted the paper work and 14 days after they cashed our checks). So why one and not both of us??????? Sad
I was TOLD that mine was just waiting to be signed 6 month ago!  Crazy
Is there a phone number where any of these guys can be reached???????

Sounds like those that did the June 16th SS1K in Tennessee with the MTF should be getting their certs pretty soon

I did the IBA national parks tour in July of this year and got an email from the IBA about 3 months after submitting it saying it was approved and gave me my number, 31960.  But I still have not received anything in the surface mail.

I am guessing that different types of rides go through different review processes, some taking longer than others. Shrug

I completed my SS1K last June, and got my packet in the mail a couple of weeks ago. It included a letter from Mike Kneebone apologizing for the delay. About 10 days after that I got an email. Sounds like they are clearing through the backlog, so yours should be on the way.

Same here.  Did mine in May I think, and got my stuff about 3 weeks ago with the letter.  Well worth it though.  I'm proud to display my stuff...

Got my packet Saturday Jan. 5 2008. Did my ride Aug. 28 2006. They are finally catching up on the 2006 backlog.
