OK anyone else out there get this one?  Holy Crap the graphics on HD are getting very real my friends!!  So far I am really liking this game. Halo 3 will not get much use from me for a while. Halo 3 was a good filler between Gears of War and COD4 but that was about it. I hate to admit it but I played for 12 hours yesterday.  Crazy Bigsmile

ah...but wait until they cap out the Playstation 3 CELL chip in a few more years
Nothing like real-time rendered physics...shell a car, and watch it flip due to simulated real forces.

Games are getting very nice. I just posted about Need for Speed ProStreet, another beautiful game.

Now I just need that $2300 1080p plasma screen.

Man that might just push me over the edge to the point of having nightmares of SAS, Marine Force Recon or Southwestern Russian Muslims (not sure they have a name in the game) blasting me in the face with an RPG or M60.  EEK!

The physics are already here with Half Life2.

Call of Duty4 is pretty sweet. The AC-130 Specter map was much fun!

I checked it out on my buddies enormous TV monday night (after football).  Wow...  just wow!  Break out the sniper rifle and cap a guy in the head, not only do you get realistic blood spatter up the wall behind him but his helmet flips up into the air as the body falls to the ground.  The types of weapons you get to use is incredible, between the ground, the helicopter door guns, the AC-130...   Drool
They're definately pushing the lines of too real.

It is called moderation. Set a specific time block aside for gaming and leave it at that. Try it sometime.  Razz

I have the PC version. I am running a quad core processor (Q6600), 2 gig ram, and a 320meg 8800GTS video card and I was not able to run on the highest settings. But, it kicked butt and was absolutely amazing. You will need a pretty heavy duty card to run this. The good news is that prices have come down a bit.

How is the multi-player option on the PS3/Xbox?  And not the online, I'm talking two folks on the same box.  Can you go through a campaign together or just the same crappy hunt each other down BS like the last one?

Just like the old one, there is no co-op campaign. Developers need to wakeup and realize that co-op campaing (online and offline) is a requirement for next gen games.

I'm running a AMD dual core 4800, 2gigram and a 7950gt and it runs pretty smooth. I do thing the shadows are kinda bad though but it could be something with my config.

Gaming is fun and great stress relief especially during the cold winter months.

It is. Just finished STALKER and have nothing to play. I hear Gears of War is good and will not tax my system too much.

I have an AMD 3500 6600 card and tons of RAM but I suspect COD4 is beyond my system.

Possibly but it may be playable if you turn down the bells and whistles.

Here are some numbers from the demo but this is at a very high resolution:

Might as well give it a try. I will download the demo and see how bad it is.

I used to be addicted to Flight Sims and with each latest and greatest I went and upgraded. Now, my upgrades are usually a year or so behind. It saves me money and in about a year or two I play the game. But I must admit, the new games like COD4 and Crysis have me a bit excited.

Well, then the PS3 developers will be a good 5 years behind the curve.  Real time physics has been in some games for years.

I did not update it and the only issue I had was when I was out walking or running across a large area the game would freeze for a 2 second count then pick right back up, it was a little annoying but it never happened during a firefight or such so it was not that big of a deal as the game was so dang good to me I just paid it no attention.
