Hay this is for the older guys who play shooter games like Halo.
Do you feel sea sick after about an hour or so of playing? I wasn't like this when I was younger but now that I'm 30....I can only play a little bit and then I start feeling sea sick. Really odd! I just had my eyes checked out so they are OK. What could it be?

You're just getting old and *better funded*. Bet your TV is much bigger now that you're older, huh? Like enough to fill your vision more, and mess with your equilibrium. I never had that problem on small sets, but go to an IMAX movie, and it'll make you retch.

Try sitting a little further back from the TV, sonny. It's motion sickness. When the majority of your field of vision is occupied by something moving in all directions like that and your body is still, your brain assumes something is wrong = sickness. Games are getting better, that's why it seems like you're actually moving when in reality you're not. The temptation when your virtual life is on the line is to sit really close so you don't miss any detail (like that asshat camping behind a rock). Sit further back so you can see some stationary wall around the TV. Take breaks to walk around your house and let your body reorient.

P.S. This advice comes from the guy who threw up 3/4 of the way through watching Blair Witch Project. Made it to the toilet though.

I found when I started to get back into playing FPS games (42 yrs old this time), I would feel queasy as well after a little while. The more I played though, the less it bothered me. After a week or so of a couple hours/night I could play all I wanted without feeling sick.
Of course, being the slightly obsessive personality I am, it ate up all my free time until I had to quit cold-turkey

+1 on getting old.
If you want to feel better play against some kids. Poor kids today grew up with a media-driven cultural belief that still shows the technology inept parent or "old person". Unfortunately for them that perception was formed when we were kids and is no longer true. There are few things more amusing than picking up a gamecube controller at thanksgiving while your little cousins/nephews/nieces are playing smash brothers, asking them how these new fangled controllers work, and then promptly destroying them because you learned how to play games like that when they were still in diapers.

Nah I don't think so. When I play IL-2 ( a WWII flight simulation shooter where I'm looking all over the place I'm OK) but that's on a 17in screen or when I play a game like Simpson's hit and run I'm OK as well. But when I play Halo II or Advent Rising for the X box I just get a bit tweaked.

+1 on moving back from the tv. A couple of years ago I went to the mall after a lengthy metal gear solid session and found myself wanting to sneak around and stick tight to the walls and corners.

It's worse when you play Grand Theft Auto and compound the erratic driving with impulses to pull people out of their cars and steal them.

30 years old!! Get back in your wheelchair old man.
Just kidding, could be that things just change in time, I used to have a stomach of steel, but now I have difficulty at amusement parks with tummy aches and motion sickness, I guess it just happens.
But seriously, 30 years old?????
What are you gonna call it when you're 50?
I'm only 36 btw and I'm starting to rethink my opinion of "old" case you can't tell.

Funny thing though, car games don't bother me but GTA makes me sweat and feel like my head is going to explode after 30 min. The old Duke Nukem was the worst!
I mean it only lasts about 15 min and then I'm good again but it does drive me a bit nuts!

At 39 I don't have a that problem at all. The only issue I have is with games like Guitar Hero. I'm fine while I'm playing. The problem is that I have my 360 set up in my home office and I tend to multi-task. I'll play a song, swivel my chair 90 degrees and read an email or refresh ST.N while the next song loads. Now the center of my computer screen appears to be moving away from me just like GH. It was kinda freaky the first time it happened.
