Hey every one got a new issue. I finally got the bike back together and decided to go to the gas station to fill her up as a test ride. As I pulled out of the drive way the bike sound a little different than I remembered but I wasn't too worried. When I got to the gas station I notice my foot was slipping the the pegs quite a bit. I looked down and see massive amounts of fluid dripping out from the bottom of the bike.

I was able to get the bike started but it was really hard to keep running. It died every time I stopped the bike died.  After putting through one of the busiest intersections in town I couldn't get the bike to run any more. Long story short I ended up walking the bike 6 blocks home (not so easy when your bike weighs 500lbs).

Once I got home I took a closer look and found that gas is squirting out of the carbs into the chamber with the air filter and then dripping down the bike. I had not noticed this happening until now but since I laid the bike down I have only had it running while in neutral. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

From your description you've got a stuck float or dirt in the float bowl prohibiting the float needle from seating and stopping the fuel flow. And most likely a set of fouled plugs to go with it.The best (and most difficult) is to remove the carb rack, remove the float bowls, inspect and clean each one.I notice you said got the bike back together, were the carbs removed? If so you may have disturbed the float hight on one or more causing the overflow. It's a pain in the ass however it's not expensive to remedy.Should be free in fact. No, the carbs were not removed but the bike was laid down going about 15mph. Something got caught under it while i was on my way to work. I never saw it on the road and couldn't find what it was after I went down. Most annoying.

I have pulled carbs out before and done all the readjusting and cleaning. I just don't want to do it. And they are a pain to pull.

yeah I know but there's no shortcut. You can try turning the petcock on and rapping the offending carb(s) with a screwdriver.Oh that is after draining the float bowls. Good luck it works occasionally.Wouldn't count on it though. Sad

You should check your crankcase oil-level too.  The gasoline will often find it's way into the cylinder, past the rings, and will dilute the oil.

So today I started the bike just to see if it would start spitting stuff out of the carbs and I got nothing. Ran perfectly fine. I did start to hear some sort of knocking and it appeared to be coming from the carbs. So maybe something did get stuck down there. Only took 30min for me to get them off. Figured it would take longer. Taking them apart will have to be another day where I can be inside in the warm Smile
