Well, this is what happens when cheap asses ONLY buy online and don't support the local dealer. When a dealer has stuff in stock, I much prefer to buy locally and put hands on whatever I'm buying. I usually research my purchases pretty well, so when it's time to pull the tigger, I'm ready to buy and I want it *now*. Much of the time, factoring in reasonably-timed shipping works out to about local price any way. Now, if I have to order it, then I'm telling the dealer I'm ordering it and why; if they had it, they'd get my $$$.

$.02

*this all, of course, refers to non-vehicle purchases; gear, accessories, clothing, etc*

I dont mind buying from a dealer, but I have never been to a dealer that has anyting of real quality in stock. Never been to Detroit Eurocycles, but I think their economy is the main reason. SAD

 Sad

There's a big thread about this over on AF1 Aprilia Forum.

I too am quite saddened by their closing. I purchased my Futura from Detroit EuroCycles. Jeff was friendly, helpful, and totally professional before, during, and after the sale. He picked me up at the airport and drove me back to the shop himself, where the Futura was prep'd and waiting for my ride back to Chicago.

Oh well, no need to rehash my whole story. We all know what a loss this is to the Aprilia community.  Best of luck to Jeff and the rest of his staff!
