Dred posted up this poll to give people a place for feedback on when the 2008 Meet should be held. Here are the stats as they currently stand:

When: TBD in this poll
Where: Eureka Springs, Arkansas
Why: because

The Meet is generally mid-week. With the weekends bookending, this allows for plenty of travel time. A good set-up has been to have a dinner Tuesday night, ride Wednesday and then another dinner Wednesday night. This is completely flexible of course, but it has been proven to work well. Therefore the dates that I've chosen in the poll reflect the Tuesday/Wednesday of the "Meet Week".

Chose wisely, but you can change your mind and re-vote if you like. Also, the poll closes in 40 days, so that's sometime near Christmas. This will allow the planners to finalize the date and for everyone to request the time off  Thumbsup

EDIT:
I added two dates in May. HOWEVER!!!! Please note that time of year is pretty sketchy in the mountains and may put some travelers in danger in trying to get to/from the Meet. This is one of the reasons we've always held until after the first of June  Thumbsup

I voted late June.  My logic is it's further away from the peak spring storm season but it's not quite HOT yet.

Can we add a pre-memorial date? Or is that out of the discussion, not that I've made a case for it Headscratch

RRA

I've added two more dates, but historically this has not been an option because a) it interfers with that illustrious WCRM in May  Twofinger and 2) the weather in the mountains getting to/from the meet is usually pretty dicey. However, if you sickos want to subject yourselves to snow and ice to get there, far be it for me to stop you!  Bigsmile

WCRM

Its a 5-year tradition now and always the weekend before Memorial Day.

And yes, its very easy to forget that there are 10,000' mountains to cross to get to Arkansas from the west  EEK!

Be warned, ya'll - we will be on the lookout for sockpuppet votes.  Don't go registering seven different IDs just to sway the vote your way.  It's shady, and it's traceable.  So there.

Me, I'm going for the third week in June, coz I'm a frickin traditionalist.  But I'll be there regardless of which date gets picked.  Missed last year's, but there's no way I'mma miss this one.
