Two rides and two crashed TW pics.   Sad   And where did the pink barbie tail trunk go.   Headscratch   Wink Razz

I was two hundred miles to the south at Mt Hood, but on snowshoes and not two wheels.  I guess I did get to throw my leg over a BMW or two.

Glad the rides went well and everyone ended up okay.

maybe the bike is just inherently unstable... Shrug  Lol

btw - in case anyone wants to hear Bombauer's incoherent ramblings during the re-location process, you can here it here. He says that he doesn't remember any of this. Good thing I didn't film that "other" operation then   EEK! Bigsmile

Well I remember counting, that's for sure.  I just started counting without anyone asking since I assumed they were putting me out...but they weren't going quite that far.

If they had suggested I take the discussion in another direction well things could have been REALLY entertaining...but this was pretty damn hilarious!

For you Californians,  it works like this.

That white stuff in the picture is called "snow."  When it gets driven on a lot it gets packed really tight, and turns into this stuff called "ice."   The bike, as it slows, becomes less stable as the gyroscopic force from the spinning wheels is overcome by this force called "gravity."   "Friction" between the tires and the ground is at a minimum because the afore mentioned "ice" is slippery, and gravity is able to overcome the friction between the tires and the ice.  The tires slide over the ice.

So I had to lay her down!   Bigsmile

In reality, it was about a 2MPH drop as I was coming to a stop on the ice.  I've fallen harder in the tub.

That whole ride was pretty hairy.  Coming out of Wilkeson is a nice banked turn.  That morning, it was a sheet of ice.   I broke both wheels free, and rode it like a GP rider.  Dave and Coleen both slipped the rear end, too.  Coming back, there was a jeep in the ditch on the same curve.  That dude apparently lacked our mad skilz, yo.

The XT is way fun on the dirt.  It's a little sketchy on the freeway, and pavement in general.  It's so light the slightest breeze blows it around, and them big knobs aren't what one would call confidence inducing.   But in the dirt and the mud, woooooo!!!!!   You can throw it around.   I'm looking at the bigger model.  I think it's a 400?

Sorry, thinking about the wrong model.  I think DD and Poof could work out a deal with all the n00bs riding the XT, and probably pay for the heating bills for DD's garage and farkles, airline miles, or beer for Poof.

ya gotta work the angles.    Bigsmile

You probably had time to put a pillow under the bike as well.  Lol

Lol  I see ice racing in your future.   Lol

In that case you might want to check out the DRZ.  (probably not uncle bob's turbo'd SM version though)

I had a helluva time and the shoulder is recovering very nicely.  I'm riding full time again and I can't wait to hit the dirt again...so all's well that ends well!
