I just got a pair for Christmas. I'm not too impressed so far... the ones I tried on (a fellow rider's) were positively luxurious inside. Like buttah. These have a very prominent seam in the middle finger of the right hand and the middle finger of the left hand glove is a bit too short. And they seem to have an abundance of room in the area by the back of the palm.

To those of you who have these... do they start out feeling buttery or do you have to break them in? Should I call Helimot and try to swap for another pair in the same size? I hear they have good cust/serv...

I've been wearing Buffalo 365s for 2.5 years now (~40,000 miles).  Mine fit pretty well from the get go, but there was definitely a seam that took some getting used to.  I don't remember which seam now, since that was a while ago, but your description sounds familiar.

They do definitely run a little bit on the small side -- I normally wear a men's S glove, but my Buffalo 365s are mediums.

I'd call Helmut and just chat with him about the gloves.  He'll happily spend the entire day just tossing out ideas and asking for bizarre hand measurements and saying "sheeet!" to you a lot.  Since they custom make the gloves themselves, he'd have a good idea as to whether they need to break in or are just a wrong size.

I had a set and I will definitely say that they were, without a doubt, the most comfortable gloves I've ever worn.  Unfortunately they also wore out very quickly too.  I barely got 12,000 miles and one year out of them before the deerskin fingers wore out.  I had holes in two fingers and the other 8 fingers were pretty thin.

IMO, get the more expensive 'roo skin H20 Helimots.  Roo lasts a lot longer.

Hmmm... mebbe I'll send 'em back and swap for the H-20s and pay the difference. Headscratch

Only a $30 difference.  Personally, I'd pay the diff and go Roo.
