Just finished rereading the donation thread and I'm just surprised at how many people are upset that their website was taken away from them.  I missed ST.N like most of you, but for the love of Mike, I do have other interests.

Ten years ago I was just getting my first home computer.  Since that time I still jog, ski, talk with my lovely spouse, harass my children, read books and magazines, officiate/coach soccer, work at a second job, take community college courses, announce ball games for the high school, participate in
community theater and ride my bike.

So why can't people find something to do besides whine about their favorite web site?

(where's that poking stick smiley-doh!)

I'm going to take a look at the donation thread.  This two websites for one community thing has me puzzled, but time will tell and I'll likely have to pick one.  Hmmm...EEK!

I sit around with my post-ho friends and bitch about forums that don't have enough smileys!  BAAA!  Mad2

If I'm not working (means to an end to feed the riding habit) or of course riding, I also cold water scuba dive (though not as often as I would like to), do a little RV'ing, hike a bit, work on my aging house to keep the critters out and the heat in, drink fine wine and chase my wife around the bed, and serve as slave and feeder of our two superior felines.  I find I don't have enough time to read the three subscriptions to moto magazines or post as much as I would like between these things, but yet I find all of them all something I enjoy.

I think I need another bike to make it all better. Wink

no kidding.

But to your question:
During the warm weather months - almost anything that keeps me outside. Seeing your list makes me feel like I'm certainly not doing enough. And YOU refer to yourself as an old man.
During the cold months - woodworking. Currently building a 14' wide entertainment center for a neighbor. I also do what I can during these months to hoard money for motorcycle related expenditures in the future.

oh, and setting up a supercomputer to gain world domination through Global Thermal Nuclear War!!!!!!!!!!!!

Riding is my passion. I've had other passions over the last 20 years, but you eventually burn out and find something new and interesting to do. If I'm not working, or riding, I like to read/talk about motorcycles and riding with other like-minded folk, so I spend a lot of time on forums. They ARE important to me. Can't ride in the winter, so skiing takes the place of riding, but if I'm not working or skiing, I'm on moto-forums. Or working on my moto web site. Or planning moto rides.

Does this make me shallow? Or just focused?

That seems to be the only thing more popular than whining about things these days - whining about the whining. Just as much thread space seems to get taken up. And just as much time that could be spent riding or doing other things in the evening gets wasted. Somehow that's different?Shrug

Hey, I apologized for whining after I became lucid.  And it's too late to scratch the thread.

Quit whining about people who are whining about whiners while impaired.   Now you're attacking me while I'm having a personal social special needs moment.

Maybe the Democrats will give me funding.

NO NO NO Anna. That is soooooowrong so wrong. It's not that towing a bike is so wrong (I know someone who actually does something similar and I'm told he's a really nice guy too) it's just that some folks have a mental image of you as the consumate go-anywhere-go-antime-ride-through-any-weather rider and those 4 words have destroyed that image. Where are we now to turn for inspiration?

i do other things than just ride....

I watch Speed Vision when Corbins ride is on, I Also watch the fun street rider show after that i also record all GP races so that i can watch them over and over.  I also  read my three subscriptions to Rider, Motocyclest, and Sport Ride. I have just finished reading a wonderful self improvment book "Smooth Riding the Pridmore Way"
On Friday afternoons i go to my local dealer to look at the cool new bikes and to learn more about the gear the shop wants to sell me.  When i get home after a long day i log onto my support group site "STN" and see what is happing in the real world you know so that i dont live in a box.  I surf a few sits like Pirates Lair  and Bike pics.com i find my self on e bay looking at what others are wanting to sell and see if i can add any to my brood.

At that point I go off to bed and set my alarm clock that vrooms to wake me to a fresh morning of more motorcyle bliss.  SmileBigsmile
