Hey all. I'm new to Utah and since it was late fall when I got here, I don't know a lot (any) people to ride with. I don't know the dates, I know I could look it up but someone has the info for memory, but how about a group buy/meet/hangout at the WSB race next year? Thoughts? Did I miss a thread already covering the subject? If I'm not in Iraq I'm in. Since it snowed today and I know none of you are riding, we should meet up somewhere, sometime this winter, New Years? I'm up for anything. Besides work and now snowboarding, I'm wide open. Jut throwing out ideas. I'm in Ogden.

A group of us from CO are heading to Miller for the WSB/AMA races. Making it a part of a larger Utah tour.

That might be worth of a road trip.
We'll have to see how the vacation planning is going, my schedule looks a little tight right now.

Can anyone make recommendations for lodging? Downtown SLC to Tooele is about 30 miles? I've stayed in downtown SLC State St at the Clarion. Had a pool and bar -wasn't too bad. I've actually been to Tooele, about 8 years ago installing a data/voice network for one of the cable Tv companies out there. Is it still basically a stoplight and a 7eleven?
Post race alcohol procurement-state run liqour stores are still the SOP?
Route suggestions out to SLC- hwy 40 through Steamboat and Dinasour? I hear Provo canyon is good?
Route suggestions SLC to southern Utah?
thx in advance Utardians....
P.S.
please don't be horrified by our excessive partying abilities and foul language, we will all go home eventually.

Provo canyon's (189) pretty but nothing special compared to other areas around here, and it's often under construction and very crowded on weekends. Try to hit 191, 150, 35, 39, 31, 12, 24. Any of those will be nice.

Tooele has grown some since you were here. We have a Wal-Mart now!
There are some motels here now. Such as a Holiday Inn Express, a Hampton Inn and an American Inn. Yes, the state still controls and over charges on alcohol and also close at 7:00 pm. But you are only 10 minutes away from Millers Motorsports park. There is only one place to buy a coffee or espresso drink in town, Jana's Java, but they open at 5:00 am. Fine dining tops out at an Applebees but there are all of the fastfood you could ever want, Wendy's, McDonalds, Taco Bell, ect. If you really want to eat and drink you have to go into Salt Lake.

Thanks Canyon, I will be heading that way Thursday or Friday before the race and leaving on Monday. I will try some of the routes if time permits. I am staying at a friends motorhome at the track and I purchased some pit passes as well, so it should be a great time.
