...is another man's playground.

I seem to be setting a pattern for myself of annual trips down to Arizona to escape the PNW winter gloom. A little vitamin D infusion always lifts my mood in the winter. Here are a few random pictures from a recently returned-from trip to Yuma and the surface of the moon.

Drink lots of water and enjoy  Smile

Looks like a real fun ride. I've off road ridden in the Colorado mountains numerous times, but one of these times, I'd really like to try a few days in the desert. How many days did you spend down there?

This trip was a little over a week of riding and hanging out. I didn't have the camera along for all the riding.

Here are a few from other rides in the area during past trips.

Thanks. Hey Peter, if you ever want some company for a dual sport ride up by you, let me know. The Millican area is great riding this time of year. I'm sorely tempted to load up a bike in the van next time I come up for skiing.  Smile

Looks like some good riding never done the dessert scene. Maybe one day.

He loved it, commenting that it hooks up good, feels like extra suspension, and lasts much longer in the rocks. When I rode it it felt very nice and wheelspin was easy to moderate, compared to a full dirt knobbie which feels like it's either fully hooked up or fully spinning/sliding. The trials tire felt like it would give you more ability to control the rear.  Thumbsup

Cool.  I'd heard that they tend to wear more quickly than a desert tire, but you found they last longer?  Sounds like a great option. :thumbup

It was my friend that was running them on his bike...I just test rode it for a short time.

But I thought he said they were lasting longer. In that rocky environment, knobbies round off after the first ride. But they do use softer rubber I think, so  Headscratch

Maybe a factor of softer rubber, but more contact area? :shrug

I'll try one if I ever get the chance.
