In the previous version of ST.N, there was a poll on this.  I just thought I would start another one and include the Territories.

In my case, as you can see, I am in New Brunswick and have lived here all my life.  Maybe that explains everything eh?   Lol

I live in the centre of the universe. (I'm just saying that to piss off Bubba and all the western hill dwellers)    Wink

I grew up (so to speak) in Montreal and have lived in: Nova Scotia, Vancouver, Ottawa, NWT, Victoria and Toronto. I'm not counting the drunken weeks spent in Edmonton, Calgary and Winnipeg.

I have been in Ontario, about an hour north of Toronto, for four years and before that I was in the UK. I also lived in Winnipeg for ten years when I was very young as my father was from there. Actually he was originally from a little town called Ashern a hundred miles north of Winnipeg. Well OK, he was born in Alberta. This is getting too complicated, where's my beer? Lol

I grew up in Victoria, lived a bit in Vancouver then back to the quiet backwater. All of a sudden at 49, in a burst (fit ? ) of inspired risk taking, moved to the Kootenays. Been here two years this September and it has worked out well for my family and I.

My father was born in Nanaimo in 1919, but moved to Vancouver at a young age.

He went to the same school as Yvonne DeCarlo  Bigsmile I think she was a few years older.

I never got to live in Canada but we returned to Vancouver & Vancouver Island every summer while my grandparents were still alive.

One of my biggest disappointments is that I have as of yet, not had the opportunity to visit Newfoundland. Many friends have done so and their stories have kindled a deeper desire to get there before the fat lady sings. Hence the recent purchase of a toy hauler which will give us the opportunity to travel more easily across North America and yet give us the ability of enjoying the local roads aboard the XX. Newfoundland is 2nd on the list following the Grand Canyon area. Let's hope the body can still cope when that time becomes available.

I was born in Cleveland and moved to Toronto after high school.  My old man was Canadian, my grandparents lived in Toronto and retired to the Muskokas, I'd been visiting here at least once a year my entire life.  A while ago I realized that I've been Canadian longer that I was an American.

I made it to Newfoundland last summer, now I've been to all the provinces.

Raised in 'skatchwan.  In '91 moved to Calgary, Alberta and became one of those hated as much as someone from Toronto.  It takes a while to get out of town before anything twisty happens... maybe 45 minutes.  Have done the 10 province thing (loved Newfoundland!) and claim the Kootney roads in the summer are the best in Canada.

22 years in Saskatchewan, 6 in SW Ontario, 3 in California, and 28 in Edmonton.

And no, we don't really hate Calgarians.  We were disgusted by your politicians who endlessly whined about getting less than Edmonton while Klein was giving you far more than us.  (Eg. universities:  Ours was much bigger and generally more eminent, so naturally we should get more support.  But no, everything we asked for had to be matched in the south or nothing would happen.  In other areas where Calgary was ahead, of course it was natural for Calgary to get more.  No one in Calgary seemed to notice the injustice.  If you Calgarians want to understand it, think of it as our provincial National Energy Policy with Klein as Trudeau.)  Now that the premier is not from Calgary, maybe things will even out.

I have lived all of my 70 years in Nova Scotia; home of the world famous Cabot Trail, a population of only 900 thousand and hundreds of kilometres of twisty coastal roads with light traffic.
It's motorcycle heaven - except in the winter time Lol

So who is whining now??????  Getty was a former Edmonton Eskimo and that went pretty well....... Bigsmile  I don't care where the premier is from, as long as he has a nose for business and looks after the entire province.  I find you university comment laughable though.  Actually I think it is great that Ed is from up north as it will give the inferiority complex a rest that seems to have developed.  One prosperous province undivided.  Now let's get on with it......

Let's see...  Born and raised in the Sault Ste Marie, went to school in Macon, GA, than back to the Soo for a year.  Then moved to Calgary for a good chunk of the 90's.  Left there for a better job offer in Windsor (yeah, I know... Dumbass move, though I did meet my wife there so not all bad) then briefly to Kitchener and back to Windsor.  The move back made me really realize how much Windsor sucked so we decided to head north to North Bay.  Stayed there for a few years until last summer when we realized it still wasn't what we were looking for so we packed up and moved to Fernie.  In amongst all that I've been to almost every state and province except the territories/Alaska, Oregon, and the Maritimes/far northeastern US - got a bit of a travel bug.  Regrettably haven't been off-continent yet but we'd really like to tour Europe by bike eventually and also hit Australia/New Zealand.

Hmmm...I was born in the foothills of the Rockies, not far from Jasper, Alberta; my parents brought me to BC as a toddler, and I've in various parts of this province ever since (well, did a short stint in Saskatchewan and Manitoba, but then right back to BC!)  I've been to every province except Newfoundland and the Yukon (I have been to both the NWT and Nunavut--worth going!).

My father...went to the same school as Yvonne DeCarlo  Bigsmile I think she was a few years older.

Hmmm...I went to the same high school as Bryan Adams, he was a few years ahead; my older sister was in his class, until he dropped out of high school in Grade 10, of course! Wink  Possibly not as worthy of mention as Yvonne DeCarlo...

It's OK as long as your less than 50 over.  Of course riding the back wheel through a school zone or past an OPP cruiser at 50+ over the posted, maybe you need a few days off the bike.  Not judging, just suggesting. Bigsmile

This is a great country.  I must have driven back and forth over twenty times over the years.  Get out and explore.

I AGREE!

Some of us might seem a bit smug about where we live (we know who we are! Wink ) and some of us may be less than positive, but really, we all live in a great country--one which, unfortunately, few Canadians ever see very much of.  I've always preferred to travel within Canada to going overseas--we have it all, from incredible mountains to endless prairie to ocean vistas to the high Arctic, from rustic farm communities to fine galleries, from bluegrass festivals to the symphony.  I've met Canadians who've travelled throughout Southeast Asia, Europe, Africa, or South America, yet they've never been to the Canadian Arctic, Quebec, or Cape Breton Island...

Have lived in London Ontario most of my life.
Originally from England, family moved here when I was about three. Then went through many years of back and forth between England and Canada (Mum couldn't settle down). Finally settled here myself in 74, got married in 79 and the rest (as they say) is history.
Can't say I've seen much of Canada, (drove out to P.E.I. for our 25th anniversary) but hope that'll change in the not too distant future.
I'm putting racing (Vintage) on hold this year and hope to do more riding (04 B12 only 10K), see a bit more of the country. That being said, life has a remarkable way of popping up and biting me in the ass, you know...cars, home, kids (university) work, life etc.
Well that's the short version, don't feel like writing a novel today.

Pretty much your typical Redneck Alberta Boy here. Started working in the Oilpatch at 15, been there ever since.

First "Motorbike" was a 3 speed CCM bicycle with an Iron Horse gasoline washing machine motor hinged on the downtube, V belt drive down to the sprockets.

Then came a 1959 Bonneville 650 when I was about 14 ( first year for the Bonnie and I found out later there were only 3 brought into Canada)

1949 Thunderbird, frame was bent, made for some interesting riding at times.

1974 Trident, great bike, ended up blowing the center con rod right through the block.

1985 FJ 1100, still got the old girl, still runs like hell.

2005 FJR 1300 Still finding way too many things to farkle it with.

I'm originally from the Rock.

I've lived in Ontario, Nova Scotia, Jordan, Labrador, Russia, Japan and Manisloba.

Over the years I've visited (not on bike) Ireland, Cuba, Dubai, Finland, Korea, China, Saipan, Guam...and a bunch of US states...can't remember them all...but...I think Maine, New Hampshire, New York, North Dakota, Minnesota & Hawaii.

The only places in Canada I haven't set foot in are Alberta, PEI and the northern territories.

I've reread this a bunch of times and I just know I'm forgetting some places...

After thirty years in Toronto I've finally had enough.  At the end of May we're moving into a 140 year old house in Uxbridge, Ontario.  So there.

Hello Folks

I live in that strange land east of Nova Scotia,,,the far east of the western world.....the Rock! St Johns to be precise.

Born and bred and luckily enough been able to work here steadily and havent had to move.......and no I dont fish Razz

I have been in every province except Saskatchewan and missed the Yukon...not on bike tho. Done NB, NS and PEI on 2 wheels. It is a pretty amazing country...too bad we let politicians run it Lol

Cheers

Born and raised in Toronto, Jane and Finch actually (lol! Watches everybody hide under their desks)..

I moved out of there in 79 just as it was getting really bad. Moved to Sudbury during the biggest Inco strike in modern times. People were losing their homes, no work. Worse, I was out of school, in a strange town, didn't know anybody, and no job. Not fun. I hated it for at least 2 years.

Well, then, life has a way of happening. Here it is 29 years later and I'm still here. I actually like this place. Everybody I grew up with in T.O. has fled. Myself, I think I've been 'IN' T.O, once in the last 10 years. I just go around it when traveling south to see family 'n stuff.

Having said that, I'll be moving from here when the opportunity presents itself, I'd really like to move to BC. I just know I'd love it there. I'll find out for sure in June though Bigsmile

I can now cross off Illinois, Michigan, Montana and Alberta.

Reporting in from the far side of Cape Breton here... Near Louisbourg, more or less... Moved here from Montreal/Ottawa areas because a seaside building spot is too expensive there! (well... I guess...  Rolleyes)
Absolutely enjoying the roads here WAY better than anything in Ontario (except maybe Gatineau Park) and even the Laurentians are not up to the Cabot Trail, or even the loop around the Bras d'Or.

There... Now I've pissed off about 60% of the poll Lol

Lots of room here for wayward touring bikers. Fall is the best riding season. A few weeks ago, I managed to ride for 45 minutes on the Fleur de Lys trail and passed not ONE car in either direction.

Ahhhh... Blisss....

Signing in from Sunny Saskatchewan! Came over from Bolton, England in '81, lived in Calgary for ten years then came to Regina. Gotta tell ya, I was not keen on the transfer at the time but now can't imagine living anywhere else. Yes, the roads are mind-numbingly boring but Spearfish and the Badlands are only 8hrs away!! And the dollar is at par,  Smile
Just getting into the Sport touring world but, being as I have to ride at least 4 or 5 hrs to get anywhere interesting, I may be setting myself up for IronButt sooner than later.

I just found this thread.

I'm just far enough away from the centre of the universe that I don't lose my balance, although we import the Tronta crowd in for the summer months.  Smile

I've ventured a bit west and a bit east, but I spend most of my time getting lost in Ontario.

Well crap.  I've been reading this thread for years and thought I had replied a long time ago.  Senior moment.  Hanna AB for 15 years and Calgary ever since.  All the provinces except NL and I want to ride that one next summer.  I work in the patch so have hit the Territories, Alaska and lots of countries around the world.  Presently in Kazhakstan but will retire next Spring.  Just in time to ride.  04 ST1300, a sweet ride and I do ride BC.  Sneak in over the border occasionally.  Danged Albertans, yeah, I'm one.
