It is that time again boys and girls to see if there is any interest in a second annual KOOTENAY BORSCHT, BURN AND BBQ !!!

http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d1/JimFisher1956/DSC02263_edited-1.jpg

I enjoyed meeting the bunch from last year and would be willing to host on the Friday night. I see GetFuzzy and alphabet man are already discussing it in another thread so it is high time we picked a date and discussed an expanded route for the ride. Maps and pics to follow .... Burnout

So use this thread for ideas on when to hold the Burn and what routes you would like to see or activities we could indulge in!  Perhaps some dual sport action this year as well!?!?!?!?!

Later, in early Spring I will post another sign up thread with more specific details on routes and activities as well as maps and directions.

Chime in !!!

I think doing Hwy 6 from Castlegar to Coldstream (or Lumby) and back would be a good full days ride (espescially with a stop for those phantom sticky buns) on Saturday. Sunday could do some roads south of the border (escorting some riders on the way home, to ensure the riff raff are out:lol: ) like Sherman pass or part of the Selkirk loop for those heading east.

That sounds like a good route John ... for additional length we could return/start via Kaslo ...

Hey bubba we could do Pass Creek road then Bonnington (2 nd secret road) to Nelson and then up to Kaslo. Would add an hour or so to the ride, should still get back by late afternoon. Once in Kaslo those interested in some adventure touring could head up to Meadow Creek over to Trout Lake then on to Galena Bay. From there they could go through Revelstoke and loop around a bit to Coldstream/Lumby. Or could go from Galena Bay down to Nakusp and do Hwy 6 and meet up in C/L.

Sounds interesting Clap... I need to get a copy of Streets and Trips and try and map this out ...

Hey Dante, could you highlight the primary loop? Castlegar-Nelson-Kaslo-Nakusp-Fauquier-Lumby, back to Needles-Nakusp-Silverton-South Slocan-Castlegar. Thanks ever so much.

My pleasure. If you want, I can remove the non-essential map, so as not to confuse the massess. Just say the word!

The second one is perfect we can put together the other one for the dual sport crowd ( hey ... that will be me !!! Thumbsup) later on so as not to confuse but for now could you remove it?

For those that are interested there is another "secret"  dual sport road from Slocan valley to Fauqier, then a short hop over hwy 6 to Cherryville and down the Kettle valley to Rock Creek (I understand DD is a expert on the Kettle Valley portion)

That's the one that follows the power lines. Tried that road once in a tercel 4x4 wagon, got to a washout and came back. Needs a vehicle with more than 5" ground clearance.Crazy
