Nifty!

You might want to add that a PVC pipe extension can be added for those with a higher instrument panel. If the added torque on the mount is a problem, place some rubber (thin bicycle tube) between the PVC and handlebar.

Also, you'll want to make a 1/4" thick washer with a 1/4"-20 thread that can be backed up against the camera itself...you find those on tripods with ball mounts. Items R714.10 & R210.28 on this drawing... http://www.manfrotto.com/webdav/site/manfrotto/shared/manfrotto_nord/pdf/7/714SHB_20031201.pdf
