Replied.  Thumbsup

And back at ya. Small change in plans. We're (brother and I) are wussing out and trucking down. We're both gonna be pressed for time on this weekend, I've got to be back for some Sunday evening family stuff and I'll probably be fielding work-related phone calls all day Friday (I work in the financial biz and everything's in turmoil).

Best laid plans...

I tried to make this trip, but it just didn't happen. Sorry I'll miss all the fun Sad

My UN-Ride Report:

I cancelled my room at the Old Clark Inn if anyone needs it, call fast!  Bigok

It also opens up a dinner if anyone still needs a seat.

Dude, that sucks. Sorry about your having to cancel. Hope things turn around for you over the next couple of days.

I haven't even looked at a weather report and I think I should stop reading this thread so I can get the images of others horror stories out of my head. Two years ago I crashed right before the National when it came this way so im making it to ESTN come hell or high water. Come 4:30 tomorrow im leaving from work and praying I make it there in one piece.

Don't sweat it Allan. There's going to be rain around for a couple days. Buy rain gear and use it. If you don't have any good stuff, Euro Moto in Wexford and hook you up with Frogg Toggs. Just take it easy and be smooth with control inputs. All extra time for braking. If you mellow out, riding in the rain (if you're not getting too wet) is actually a lot of fun.

Fun thing about riding in the rain is NOT getting wet with all your rain gear on, you'll be surprised how those tires grip in the wet.
Sad part is I will be missing the fun (again) this year  Sad , my plan to ride yesterday did not materialize and will be trucking it tomorrow hauling stuff to move back in MD.

Maybe a future group ride in the area can be planned  Shrug

Ride safe and have fun everyone  Smile

Those who are having ominous feelings should trust their insticts and stay home. Don't feel bad about it, while you will be missed, there will be lots of other events to attend.
Having said that, I'm sure the three of us who are still attending will have a terrific time  Lol Lol

We've had a handful of cancellations but no mass exodus. I count 9 dinners currently for sale, so we've still got 55 people showing up  Thumbsup

Time to finish packing the bike, finding a proper container for some Wild Turkey and go to bed.

Weather looks greatly improved, current radar shows nothing east of Philly up here, a little patch around Winchester which should be gone by midday. Wet for sure, but not soaking. See ya'lll there.

I started my ride yesterday with a ride around the PA mountains to end up in the State college area last night.. riding down today with SLK50 and cablebandit. Unfortuneately I started feeling punky around midday and by afternoon realized i was comming down with something and was developing a fever. I stopped at a pharmacy and bought a cheap thermometer and sure enough I had a 101.5 temp. I made it home last night, but not without doing the last 100 miles in the rain.  This morning as  of 7:30, my temp is 102f and i've got the chills and sweats. The way I feel now.. I highly doubt I'm gonna make it unless this thing has an exodus as quickly as it came..

I hope you all have a safe trip with minimal rain, and plenty of clean dry roads to have a blast on.

I got the Tourmaster Defender II two piece rain suit about a week ago. Looks like I get to test it out this weekend.

Is it 4:30 yet. Sucks being the low man on the totem pole.

Oh for anyone who is checking the weather. I have found that www.weather.gov rather than all the commercial websites give you much better radar images.

I will not make it this weekend as I've been called into work as of this morning.  Anyone can feel free to have dinner on me if they've not registered in advance.  Garry, thanks for everything in planning this event.  Hope everyone has a fun, safe, weekend.

Looks like the tail of that swirly is going to pass over WV later today and leave tomorrow relatively dry(ier). Very cool. Traveling down the East coast today will suck, but we should be good for the rest of the weekend.  Thumbsup
