Not all who wander are....what was I saying?

Since I'm new to the forum, I thought I'd post a few pics of the bike.

I bought the bike new in May 2006.  I'll roll it over 20K miles before the end of '07.  I'm very pleased with the machine so far.  The engine's one of the most reliable I've owned.  The brakes are sufficient.  I replaced the stock tires once at 14K miles and probably could've squeezed another grand out of them--Bridgestone Battleaxe front and rear.  I've kept everything basically stock.

Did you do/have done your valve inspection yet?  Were any adjustments needed?  Mine is due as its just past 15k miles and I am just curios.
Thanks

I've done two inspections, the first around 600 miles and the second at about 14K or so.  The bike needed no adjustments at 600 miles and minor adjustments at 14K.  The shop didn't alert me to anything unusual.  They told me they'd see me at 28K.

Very cool bike.  I had a brandy new 2002 SV650S as a first bike and had an amazing amount of fun on it.  The beauty about bikes like this is that you can have a lot of fun without having to do sublight speed.  Your bike looks like the perfect lighweight tourer.  Enjoy!!!

Loving mine... I'll have to make an appointment for my 15K mile checkup soon and I should replace the chain.   I did tires at 12K miles and brake pads around the same time (not needed, but I wanted better braking... A set of EBC HH pads did the trick).

Other than the Brake pads, the full set of Givi cases and Graphic Language Reflective Wheel Stripes are the only mods.

Enjoy your bike... Bryce

I love the silver bags on the silver bike.  Was at the IMS show this past weekend in NYC and Kawasaki had a 650R in black/red wheels with a ST windshield and bags.  Was one of my favorite bikes at the show.

It was just some road that I saw on a map south of Tucson that I thought I would check.  Thought it would be paved but I guess not.  Very cool canyon it runs through.  I am not allowed to ride on dirt any more after that due to an unwanted attraction to buying a dual-sport I need to avoid.

Would a Versys work?  Sounds like it's exactly what you're looking for.

Hey Bryce:
I have an 06 in silver too and was thinking about the Givi setup. What does the bike look like when you take the cases off? Is the rack easily removable as well?
Otherwise...sweet bike. If it would ever climb out of the 20's here I would yank the life support plug out and take a ride.
