Once the snow fell and the riding season ended I started spending more time on the boards.  That led to looking at bikes and reading people's bike reviews, ride reports and general bike-related babbling Wink.  In a moment of weakness I decided to head on over to the local classified websites, "just to browse."  It's pretty obvious where this is going.  Almost needless to say, my intentions changed pretty quickly.

For a long time there was either nothing that caught my eye or, by the time I came across something enticing, it had already been sold...until a week ago.  Up popped this completely stock, Asphalt 2004 VFR800 (non-ABS) in great shape and with only 8800 km (5500 miles) on the odometer...and it was only 1/2 hour away.  We went out to see it on Saturday and brought it home today.

I've attached a couple of (poor) photos of my the new-to-me bike and its stablemate.  I'll get better photos sometime when it's not snowy and dark.
After selling my '02 Bandit 1200S but kept hanging out here, anyway.  It's great to be a member of the sport-touring crew again!

Nice machine! Welcome to the brotherhood. Bigok
I too was smitten by an '04 non-ABS earlier this year, in the slightly faster red color Wink (that Asphalt is sharp though).
I've put about 6000 miles on it, on top of the 3400 when I bought it. I really like it. I bought it to replace my SuperHawk; I wanted something with more range.

Add the factory bags and turn it into a very practical machine. They pop right off when you get the urge for pure sport mode...

Thumbsup on the new ride. Head on over to VFRD for more info, if needed.

Does it have all recall and/or service bulletin work done?

Did you get the hard luggage with it?

Enjoy (whenever the weather clears).

Thanks!

That's a gorgeous bike, Rodon.  I missed out on a red 2005 with bags included and about the same mileage as mine.

Traveler, this one didn't come with bags (he didn't buy them).  I'm trying to decide whether I'll go with soft luggage or the OEM bags.  I had Givi cases on my old Bandit, and it was convenient to be able to just lock 'em and leave 'em.  The OEM Honda bags look fantastic and sound like they're very well-designed and convenient to use...no surprise there, I guess.

This bike hasn't had the recall work done, so that's in the pipeline.  Everything looks ok to my eye, and the previous owner said he hasn't had any problems with the battery discharging to empty.  I'm considering performing the fix myself since it's pretty straight-forward and I'll be changing the oil and filter come spring, anyway.

It's even faster to just hop on the GSXR (and the GSXR will do pure sport a lot better, too!).  He's one of those fortunate people who has >1 bike  Hail

Welcome. Smile

Thanks!  Now it's just a matter of waiting for the snow to get tired of hanging out here Sleepy

Congrats, 2 sweet machines.  The asphalt black is sharp.  I joined the vfr alliance a little over a year ago and 12,000 miles since (low year due to joining the metal militia this summer, dirtbike incident) Excellent machine and good all around ride.
