I see the CBC is re-airing a documentary they ran last year. In case you haven't seen it, its a documentary on the "American Military Complex" in the words of Dwight Eisenhower. In other words it shows how the US gears corporate america towards support of the military. Or do I have it the other way around? Take the time to watch it next Sunday night on CBC and decide for yourself. Its a must see. Sunday Jan 13th.

I've often wondered, what would happen if the U.S. ignored the middle east, just took over Canada, and mined the crap out of the tar sands.  One statistic I once read said that the tar sands had as much to give as all of the PROVEN reserves in Saudi-Arabia.  EEK!

It's not like it would be tough for them to take over Canada.  We seem unprepared, and I don't think there's been a government in power for decades that would be able to raise an army even if the time permitted to do so.

Also, ever heard of "war plan Red"?  That was the U.S. plan for how they would invade Canada.  It was drafted before WWII and I believe it was on the books until the 70s.  It sounded quite plausible too if the wanted.

(Be careful out there.  Americans - They walk among us  Lol )

Canadian water tastes funny.  Oil will be the #1 reason we send troops to freeze their butts off up there.

Besides, you Canadians aren't so innocent either.  Defence Scheme No. 1, and I thought Buster Brown was just a kid's shoe...   Crazy

But don't fret, our dollar will be so low by then, Canada can buy all of our surplused cold-war ICBM's and actually be a threat to us.

Right again.  You're onto our latest plan.  We're secretly ruining your economy and turning the world against you so that we can takeover and have a better climate.  Don't mess with anyone that builds houses out of ice and goes without Sun for months at a time.  Lol

Miller Beer... Hurl   I used to work for Carling O'Keefe, and was there when they first started making Miller under license back in the 80s.  It is made using a different process...we had to install a gigantic tank to hold the glucose solution (yup, straight glucose, used to speed fermentation and produce a sweet, bubbly beer, kinda like soda pop...).  I assume you're using the term "Miller Time" as a figure of speech (and we all know what you mean, thanks to the power of advertising), but...

Back on subject, I did watch "Why We Fight" last night, and it was worth seeing!

There's not many main stream brand type beers I bother drinking anymore. There are just way too many good micro beers available that have a taste unlike the typical Budweiser's and such that are just fizzy pops.
I found a good hobby brew shop here in Vernon and now I compare all other beers by my favourite hobby brew. Less headaches too.
Glad you liked Why We Fight. You can't fuel a war machine without fuel and you can't fund it unless the wheels of commerce are churning out bucks.

This is Zarly Doug Walker, and I say that Canada and the United States will never, repeat, NEVER go to war against one another again. I say we should erase the border, have one single currency, and elect a new government with neither a President nor a Prime Minister, but instead call the newly formed nations leader, who will be a hot babe with bodacious ta-ta's "Head Mistress" and she will punish all of us who get out of line. Calendars of our nations leader will be available on Cafe Press, and purchases will be tax deductible. We will hold legislative assemblies at the Fox on Douglas St. The nations flag will be Red, blue and white with beavers and stripes and maple syrup and Tim Hortons coffee will be free to all citizens. I am Zarly, and I have a dream.

Ok Zarly, I'll vote for you but you have to dress in drag and call yourself "Head Mistress". Also I need you to drink a gallon of maple syrup at each meal instead of Tim's junk. And you aren't allowed to puke it. And the new army will be issued snow shovels instead of rifles and KLR's instead of LAV's. You can figure out the rest. I'm too busy moaning about the Leafs.
