Anyone checked out the new 2008 Xt250?  It replaced the old Xt225.  I've sat on it at the dealership but that's all.  Anyone ridden one?

Sure like the new 250 having a rear disc brake instead of a drum rear thats on the 225 and the new digital instrumentaion is cool.

For whatever reason they bumped the 250 down to a 5 speed.
I'll keep the 6 speed on my 225. It will cruise all day at a indicated 70mph (GPS says 66mph).

The new Yamaha WR250R (also a dual sport) does have a 6 speed and even fuel injection but it has a much larger price tag than the XT250 and would be better off road.

They did give the XT disc brakes front and back now which is nice. I agree it seems a step back for a small displacement DS bike that will see hiway miles to get a 5 speed.
