Visor Preferences

So, what kind of visor do you prefer?

Umm. It depends.

I prefer a clear visor at night. I prefer a tinted visor during the day.

I voted tinted, but only one shield wouldn't work for me.  I like the clear during night riding and most of the winter, and use a light smoke during the summer, but carry the clear one in the tailbag in case of hard rain or an after sunset dash home.

I like the look of some of the mirrored models, but have read that they're somewhat delicate and usually more spendy.

Now, don't get me wrong...I got a dark visor awhile ago and I dig it for the blistering photon assault of a high desert summer.  But these days, I never know whether I'm going to be riding at night or in the daytime, so the clear visor is my default.

Clear in the winter, because my commute is in the dark both directions.   Light tint in the summer.

Dark, but I usually carry a clear for night if necessary.

Tinted.  I don't like wearing sunglasses under my helmet.  They can literally become a pain after wearing all day.

When on long trips I pack a clear visor and swap it out at dusk.  Ding!  Problem solved.

I voted clear....but I tour with a hi viz orange, which is awesome for overcast days, a medium smoke and a clear. The Medium smoke is perfect from dawn to dusk on clear days. At night it's the clear....every so often the hi viz. But if you only have one...it should be clear

I have a light smoke on my KBC, but not all light smokes are the same. KBC's is just light enough that it takes the edge off headlights without obstructing night vision. The light smokes I had  on my Shoei and my wifes HJC are just a little too dark for night riding so a clear must be carried.

I tend to prefer a high def visor but will swicth out with a light smoked when needed.

I wear glasses, so I have sunglasses and amber tinted glasses with me.  The amber tinted glasses are great on overcast days and at night.

The *right* kind of sunglasses behind a clear visor works just fine for me.  












Right doesn't necessary mean expensive, just comfortable.

Definitely a clear visor... what makes my prescription Photochromic glasses work in conjunction with my
skid lid is a home made hanger fashioned out of safety wire... it not only holds the weight of the glasses
off my skin but also holds them in perfect alignment with my line of sight... trick no??? maybe I should
patent it and sell it???
