Earlier this year, I made the stoopid mistake of trying to drive off with the disc lock on... snick Wham BOOM and I was down

Since then, there's been a slight ticking from the right front brake, and I've noticed the pads on that side wear down a heckuvalot faster than on the left.  So, I need to replace it.

Crap - those slabs of metal are 'spensive.  There's no need to replace both of them, is there?  And if I go with an aftermarket rotor that looks kinda close (but obviously won't weigh the same) will there be any weird issue with a few ounces of imbalance laterally (obviously it wouldn't matter rotationally)?

Next biggie - the front end.  Want the front end to not suck.  Where should I send the forks to have the suck removed?  Holeshot was mentioned a while back as a good place to get Bandit forks reworked, but I'm looking for other sources.

What geographical region are you near these days?  That should help those close by recommend a good shop.

Still languishing in the flatlands of Illinois.

But the location of the shop shouldn't matter so much, coz I was 'specting to mail the forks off anyway.

+1 on Traxxion.  I have had a few front ends done by them and they did the suspension on my race bike all with great success.

Understood.  I just thought if you were near a majorly city you could do the drop-off thing and save having to pull the forks and pay for shipping.

And I've also read good things of Traxxion.

I would pick up a used rotator...as long as it's within spec in thickness, I wouldn't worry about it. It sounds like the rotator is bent.
 
Truth be told, I push my dirt bike rotators past "spec". The ones I've replaced were both around 2.5 mm and spec is 3.5. New ones are about 3.85. I've never had one warp or crack which is what you're trying to avoid.
 
Once you bed the "new" rotator to the pads, I bet the wear on the pads will even out. Smile

If you don't want to spend a lot of money you could try new springs(I recommend race tech) and some fresh, quality oil in the forks. Scoop and myself just did the springs and oil on my ZZR and I am very pleased with the results. Racetech will have a varity of spring rates to choose from and can help you with that selection.
 
If you have more disposable cash than I do, then by all means send em off to Traxxion or Racetech to get them revalved and resprung.

Tried to do even the simplest Progressive re-springing to the forks and cocked it up.  I'm good with chains and sprockets, and perhaps balancing the carbs, but I think I'll leave suspension to the perfessors.

You'll see me in Custer unless I'm flat f**kin broke.  Looking forward to it, mate - been a long time.
