Y'all know the where and the when - now we need to know how many rooms to block off.  Inn is still TBD - We stayed at Traveler's Inn last time and it was mostly cool 'cept for Krismark's original room.  Other possibilities have also come up.

But for now, post in this thread your intent to come, whether you're camping or hotel-ing, how many non-member folks you'll be bringing with you if any (SO's, riding buds, etc), and whether you'll need one bed or two in your room.

Post only once - after a week we'll tally up the results and block off rooms accordingly.  If you change your mind, change your post.

I will be coming, and will be bringing my GF, and need one room.

Next?

I have made all the plans necessary to date in order to make this trip happen.  As long as nothing comes up, I'm there.

I will be coming and hope to split a room with someone (assuming two double beds in a room. No spooning).

Double R, I plan on getting a room for two nights in Eureka Springs (Monday & Tuesday).

Shouldn't be a problem this early in the year.  Much later, and it fills up VERY fast.  I have been there twice, once for Nationals and once just because.  Both times were early June and there were lots of rooms to be had.

Glad to see you're coming, and thanks for the invite.  I just now put in for the vacation time; might be bringing a Fellow Traveler along if they can get off as well.  I'm currently planning on taking at least 3 days to ride out there, preferably a leisurely FUGAWI.  We'll see how thing gel.

I'm definitely coming!  Thumbsup Cablebandit (Chris) and I are planning to ride down together (right Chris?). Hey Scratch, you want to join us? We'd have a regular "Wee Brigade!" (And could share spare parts!)

So 1 room, two beds.

Scott

Yup, I'm in.  I don't have any spare parts to share though. The bike is just too reliable.  I guess that means it has no "soul"  Lol

If there is room for a well seasoned tourer (old fart with a wee strom!), I would be honored to join in the festivities as a first timer.  Would be accompanied on the ride by a soon to be registered S-T.Neter who has years of riding experience and is a handy man with a wrench, but fairly new to the to the touring scene.  Will be leaving from southcentral PA and would be interested in hooking up with any of the old guard that could put up with us.  So put us down for one room with two beds for two nights and look forward to meeting you all for the first time.

I will be there.  Not sure what I will be riding but it will be a bagger with 2 wheels I am sure.  I will be at the COG National the week before so if anyone is going to be in Colorado and looking for a riding partner going south east let me know and then a riding partner back to Ca.  Also count me in for some raffle prizes if you need them.

Thanks

I've never been to one of these & was thinking of coming out. I have a couple of questions & could use some advice. Is it too late to book a room? Is there anyone coming from VA,MD,DC or WV area to ride out with? Is there fees, redistration etc? Thanks in advance. The wife is heading out to Vegas for business that week so I was thinking of jumping on board but I don't know a freak'n soul.
Thanks,

Eric:

I wouldn't want to discourage you from attending an ST.n rally. From my limited experience of attending one national STn rally, it's a good group of people and a good time.  If you're coming, just call the Edelweiss or one of the motels listed by other posters on this thread.  Keep in mind that it's 1150 miles, give or take, from the D.C. area to Eureka Springs.  And that's the "direct" route, mostly on the slab; not on a more scenic route.  Going & coming will take longer that the rally itself.  That's cool if you have the time and have a nice route picked out.  I met some nice people last year in South Dakota from both coasts.  So many folks do it.  Just allow enough time.  If you haven't done a long trip before, you might want to try something closer the first time out.  I did the South Dakota rally last June because it was "next door."   I still burned up a rear tire riding the slab to the rally.  I took a more scenic route home, at least as scenic as you get in Nebraska.

ST.n Region 5 is having a rally in late September.  If you're looking for something in June, a quick check of the BMWMOA website shows a D.C.-area rally in Maryland the last weekend of May and two rallys in No. Carolina and W. Virginia in mid-June.  Details are below.  I see you have a 2008 RT.  Beemer riders like to rally and you'll find lots of rallies to choose from on the BMWMOA and IBMWR websites.  Don't let me discourage you.  That RT will take you anywhere in style and comfort.  Just make sure you're in your own comfort level and don't jam yourself on time or it won't be any fun.  Have fun whichever road you take.

kmkirlin,
Thank you for the reply! I've done many trips that are long distance but I always rode with a group or family. I have to admit that I have never traveled by myself and to not know a soul when I get there... My reference to never attending one of these was an ST.N event. I guess I pale by comparison when I see people riding from much further distances. One thing is for sure the people for the most part on this forum share my enthusiasm and sense of humor when it comes to riding!  Thumbsup If I come I would bring the RT because of the amount of time super slabb'n it. I will have to kick it around in my mind but I need to decide to secure hotel reservations. The question I'm mulling over in my mind is the 1200 miles each way, do I one shot or spread it over 2 days. 2400 miles of slab... uuuuGGGHH! Thanks for posting the other rides.
Thanks,
Eric

Hey Eric,

Don't worry about not knowing anyone.  I showed up to the 05' rally not knowing anyone except the guys I met up with on the way.  Everyone was great, and you'll find a group to ride with from dual sporters to stop-and-smell-the-roses riders to road burners.  Come on down, it'll be a good time and you'll have a blast.  I've been to every national meet since and I've had a great time every year.

Sad to say, I won't be making it to the National this year.  Getting married (3 weeks and going strong) and moving (tomorrow) have severly drained the fundage and vacation time.  If everything goes as planned, the wife will have her own bike in time for next year's national.  Here's to hoping...

Y'all have a good time!
