I don't know. I found the link to the pictures elsewhere. From the looks of it, it's on a platform with a rail around it.

I was wondering if anyone has heard what the valve adj. interval would be? I've seen naked pictures and it looks like it would be a royal pain to do.

I think the ZX-14 is 14k miles, so similar for the Connie would be expected. I understand you have to drop the engine forward out of the bike to get at them.

Hell, who cares? That's a throwaway design item. I think the bike is way cool....except for that enormous can for a muffler. (I can just imagine Muzzy and Walker at the drafting table already.)
Oh yeah, there's a lazarette on top of the gas tank, too. I guess it's okay but the minute you put a tank bag on top it I think it becomes inacessible.

I think I read somewhere that they were 6k miles, which seemed
really
short for this kind of bike. Maybe the magazine I read had it wrong.

Most of the new model Kawis' in the past couple of years have been 15k, surely this one would be close to that. We can hope it would be around 26k like some of the Yamaha's but I'm not holding my breath on that one.

Yeah, have to agree with that.
The thing doesnt look bad at all with the bags off. Kawi has done a good job blending the hardbag mounts in with the bike.

I would like the hazard on the handle bar controls. I use mine often in Interstate traffic when the speeds are EXTREMELY fluctuating.

I never use the hazard lights while riding. Whenever I see a car driving on the interstate using hazard flashers, I always interpret that to mean "stay the eff away from me... I'm totally freaked out". This usually happens in the poorest of visibility, where there's little to distinguish between that moving car with flashers and the one parked on the shoulder also using flashers, waiting for someone to drive right into their blinking rear end.

If anybody is interested, yeah right

There was not one to sit on at the Seattle show.
Hazard lights on the road is a common occurrance when someone is coming in a major traffic backup on the freeway.....in Europe....where they can drive.
The big deal about hazards is they need to be available the moment you need them. And ooking at the Connie the handle bar is in the way.

Agreed. Every bike I've had with 4 ways was right under the thumb(s) where it belongs. You can't afford to go looking for it when coming up on traffic. Of course if you're looking far enough ahead like you should then reaching for the 4 ways should never be a panic move.

With the exception of exposing the bazooka for a muffler it looks great. Looks like they bench marked BMW.
Am I the only one who thinks these new mufflers are just BFU? I hate them. Give me a nice CF oval.

For sure.
The only thing I somwhat like about it is that is matches the bike. (black & silver)
Supposedly it also has something to do with meeting some of the new European emissions laws or something. Have not looked into that in depth.

Hey BRK, that is the story I heard on the enormous can also. Since it meets euro emissions they are just carrying it over to the rest of us with lesser restrictions, for a few more years.

I got a few shots at the Toronto Motorcycle Show last weekend... Thought it was amusing that the 'glove box' cover was already broken off. Doesn't say much for build quality.

I was there on saturday in the morning, The kawi rep was trying to fix it.
While there I was able to sit on the bike, The one Kaw rep was letting us, I have some pics to post if ya'll are interested. The seating position is just a little more upright than the FJR. I'm glad I already have my deposit on the first one in at the dealer. This is going to be a great bike.

They had the hand-written 'Do Not Sit On This Motorcycle" sign taped to the luggage rack by the time I got there around 13:00...

I guess they found that it was 'mistakenly' moved to the custom painted ZX6R by someone of dubious character whose name won't be mentioned.
But before the sign ended up there someone from this board accidentally sat on the GTR and I must say it fits quite well except that I would replace the seat with a Rick Mayer.
