That was a great trip report in progress.  I hope he (Silverstone?) has it saved on his computer and will repost it.  I've been checking over Advrider to see if he cross-posted it there.

I hope he comes back too and finishes the story. That was one of the best road reports I have ever read.

Is that even a Triumph?  If it is, it must be before the original Speed Twin, because that motor looks more like an Enfield single.

I'm pretty sure it's a Triumph but obviously not a Speed Twin.  Tiger maybe?

It is a single, with the pushrod tubes on the side, not the front.  The timing side of the motor doesn't look much like the Triumphs I know about, but it could be a 1930s bike of some kind.  Whatever it is, I like it, but I like everything.

I suffer from that same affliction.
From Triumph's website:

Cool to see it in its original form and how it was modded for the track.

My Britbike expert buddy says the engine is a JAP.  They made motors for several British bike builders, including Triumph.

RCR, Highway Star, that's Scott in Harpers Ferry, WV. His avatar is SWriverstone.

He's gonna get a kick when he sees this post. I'm forwarding the message to him right now.  Lol

Hey All—yep, that was me who was posting the "live" ride reports on my trip to Newfoundland. I've been trying to find time to get it back up here, and since there seems to be some demand,  Smile I'll try to do it tonight! I've been busy, and also stuck in the "Do I post it on STN, post it on my own website and link to it, post it on ADVrider, post it on KLR650.net, or post it in my Flickr account?" dilemma!  Lol (I guess it makes most sense to post it on my site so everyone can link to it...)

My last entry here (before the site went down) was close to the end of the trip, but I did take some nice pics along the Kancamagus Highway in New Hampshire that I'll add.

Stay tuned!
Scott

PS - Why is this in the Triumph forum? LOL

Hi scott, love to follow up on the northern road trip you blessed us with, i along with many others were riveted with your perspective of the Great white north and the spectacular scenery along the way. I brought it up here because it's what i came back looking for when site went south. I had just gotten back from Nova Scotia and the cabot trail so following your journey was pretty neat.I think i am headed to Newfoundland in the next coming years! Thanks for The report!  Thumbsup  RCR
