I don't think Ducati needed "approval" from a bank, when each model was pre-sold before it was built, and they already had the manufacturing capacity in place.

So, I guess solvent companies don't need to build fabulously exciting bikes that capture the imagination, and command huge sales prices for exotic technologies. Helps explain the current Honda line-up.

Someone may have already corrected this but the first one went to a guy named Dennis Wong out of Pro Italia. There is even a video of them unveiling the bike in the showroom and giving him the keys:
