Ok I called and made reservations for 20-30 people at 5pm, and said there may be a group at lunch as well.  Spoke with Carole and she said it would be no problem.

Maddjack - I called Black Forest Inn.  The lady I spoke to said, for a group of 5 or more rooms, she could do $55 for double occ $50 single occ.  But she wasn't quite sure about the rates, as she said they change each weekend.  Hopefully it wouldn't be much higher than that.    The Black Forest Inn is pretty old, typical PA, single-story drive-up, ma & pa operation.

There is another Inn at the other end of town that Dave Hogg of Stoudts said he could get us a good rate on, The Black Horse Inn.  Near to that is an old Holiday Inn.  And then 15-minutes away there is a brand new Hampton Inn in Ephrata w/movie theater & bars nearby.

I am open to what ever as a group (hoping for a discount) or as a pick your own, tahnks again for the calls and info Thumbsup

I'm going with the Black Forest Inn (right next door). I'm all about socializing after the days ride and have no intention of getting back on the bike (even for a short ride) once the barley pop starts flowing. Mmmmmm, Stoudts makes good beer...

Will call to make a reservation later today.

Yes that's a good idea,no worries about how much adult beverage you consume before going to bed,no riding involved

I just discovered another bonus to this weekend:

The British and European Classic Motorcycle Show in Germantown, MD is on the 18th. It's about 120 miles from Adamstown to Germantown which would make for a nice morning ride, followed by checking out some vintage bikes for a few hours, then hauling butt for home. I've been to the Triumph Come Home rally a few times (Hanover, PA first week of June), but haven't made it to this one yet. Now I have the perfect reason to attend.

I think I'll wait till I know if its a lunch or dinner thing, that way I can plan my route better and if a lunch maybe use a extra day to ride, stay over somewhere close enough to make a lunch date and overnight the day of the meet at the Black Forest Inn.I Will have to see about a vacation day if this turns out to be my plan as I don't want to slab to get to a lunch date.

I was thinking people would come to either lunch or dinner, whichever they can make.  I don't really want to choose one time or the other to alienate a set of people.  Does that seem reasonable? Shrug

It would be nice if the originator of this meet, Scratch, would weigh-in on this topic.  I didn't mean to become the de facto leader here, and I don't really like making decisions like this.

My thought would be that those that can make lunch would have lunch together around 12, and that those who can make dinner would meet together at 5pm.  If some people want to make both, more power to them and we may be able to coordinate a afternoon ride between lunch and dinner.

Actually that is nice as people can wander in during the day instead of trying to meet a deadline. You my friend are a genius.

OP weighing in here.  I agree with the lunch and dinner thingie, since some will most likely be still en route on Saturday morning/early afternoon.

Yes.  I cleaned up the first post in this thread, so maybe a mod could sticky it for us, thanks.
